So I've decided to throw my hat into BCK's Vehicle Challenge, with my Copy Cat entry

I, Grotsmasha, pledge to build and paint a Knight Armiger / Drukhari Venom for the Vehicle Challenge on or before October 15, 2022.

So, my pledge is a little out there, let me explain, this year in the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, I'm running a small series of additional challenges I've called Challenge+. The first Challenge is called "What If?" where participants were to take a Codex entry from one Faction, and create the same unit as if it belonged to another Faction. In my case I did what if the Tau had a Primaris Assault Intercessor equivelant? TPS however posed the following musing,

The second Challenge is called "Copy Cat", where you take another participants idea and do your own spin on it,  TPS' idea IMMEDIATELY resonated with me and I chose to do the slight modification of What If the AdMech had a Venom-type unit?

So, thats what I'm going to do, a Knight Armiger with some AdMech Infiltraitors/Ruststalkers and a Skitarii with a long gun. I've been ever waiting for the last 7 weeks for the redframes to come in the mail, and today they finally arrived....

Well after a horrible August I think I am back to full hobby fun times.

5 Infiltrators to finish the squad of 10th Company (Squad I)

And the most Loyal of Dark Angels - Lord Cypher (No base done it was painted for my friend)

My vow is complete.

I will have another some point today (15th).

I got lucky and walked out of the GW store with the new Into the Dark box. I don't want to rush on the Kroot, but rushing on the terrain seems right up my alley so... I pledge to complete the new Space-Hulky terrain in the month of September

I, Brother Captain Arkley, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of September pledge to complete 5 Intercessors and a Sons of Medusa Terminator (Mental Health Challenge) by month's end.

I wonder what flavour said Intercessors will be

So finally after all of the shenanigans surrounding my Warhammer+ Subscription :cuss:, I got my Assassin, and I hit the ground running, I decided I wanted a base-in-base approach so that a more reasonable gaming base could be used,

To make all of this work, I (obviously used magnets in the feet and base, and a pair on the scenery to locate it.

So I finished the 4 figures I had pledged for September.

I think they came out well, and I am especially proud of my cyborg dog!

And my Into the Dark box arrived!!!!

OMG. This is easily the biggest and heaviest box I ever bought from GW! I can hardly believe how much stuff they crammed into it.

So I think I will get stuck in and assemble all the goodies before I get anything more painted this month.

I even got some rust pigment for the terrain panels and I am planning to do my first steps into figuring out how to use the rust pigment.

Needless to say, I am very excited.

Going to finish off the four mining guild rebels tonight, so I'll re-vow again, as I have some stuff that needs finishing. I,Lord_Ikka, vow to paint for the month of September  five Imperial Assassins and one Daemonhost (Cloaked Cherubael).

I decided to try out the Dirty Down Rust effects that all the cool kids are using these days. The Into The Dark terrain just seemed like the perfect project for it. Here's a WIP. It goes on easily just slobber it on then hit it with a big brushload of water and swirl... wait a few minutes and this is what you get. Took hardly any time at all. It's not cheap though. I used about 1/3rd of the $20US bottle to just do the ITD pillar segments; I think I can make the bottle last through the whole project. Saved a LOT of time building up rust though, so worth it I think.

Okay so last photo I managed to get before the series of unfortunate events that led to the death of my IPhone as described in my WIP thread:

The three Aggressors promised for the month.  The Captain is complete bar base but am currently unable to photograph.

Okay, I make at least an attempt to paint another figure this month.

I have pledged Ironhand Straken for the Mental Health Challenge. Let us see how I will do.

I, Valkia the Blood, extend my vow for September and also attempt to paint Ironhand Straken.

The temptation of the huge box full of shiny new plastic goodies, sitting next to my painting station, is very very strong, however....

I just realized I posted my mental health sneaky ork in the wrong thread. >_<  Was wondering why I had so many likes for a post in here, d'oh!

It's a great model

All of my September vows done. One Daemonhost (Cherubael count-as) and five Imperial Assassins.

So, for the month I managed to finish- 1 daemonhost, 5 Imperial Assassins, 4 mining guild rebels, 5 Necron Immortals, and 2 Armiger Warglaives.

I've finally finished assembling and priming my ork kommando kill team for the mental health challenge - took me two weeks, wow new kits are just full of precision-fit fiddly bits now - and done a successful test for ork skin*, so figured I might as well post here - who knows, I might actually complete something this year...

The goal is to paint something green by the 10th Oct. Rather than try and tackle the whole squad in one go, I'm going to start with these 5, and aim to have at least one Kommando finished by end of the month. Basing may slip until October though, I have some rubble 3d printing to do for that yet and it does not like the cold weather right now!

* I have not painted an ork for ooh, 25 years.
