That looks good, I like the chain and skull from the belt. Adds something.. And is unique? Cool pose and heroic with the plasma pistol and bolt gun.

Thank you! All very thoughtful and much appreciated. The skull on the chain is from the WFB Flagellants kit, and I think it helps tie in with the background of my faction as largely ex-Silver Skulls, who are headtakers.

Teaser from the knees up since I haven’t finished bases yet, but other than that and some Ardcoat on the lenses this is one of the 5 from my original post that I have redone in the new and improved scheme.

The 5 models that are posted at the very beginning of this thread have probably been built for 7ish years?

 

Halfway painted once, and then repainted. Between this and the Kill Team, that puts me at 11 models this year, plus a few terrain pieces from last year.

 

I really never thought I'd do it! Cheers to everyone doing the challenges and posting their progress.

A little freehand WIP for this one off that I did in parallel with the last batch of models. Need to make it white now that the shape is roughly correct.

There’s more that could be done, but it’s a test model and I’m ready to move on.

 

I’d still like to try to do some transfers on the other shoulder to test out doing it on some containers as well. 
 

Looks fine at a distance, and I’m certainly guilty of putting way too much effort into rank and file, or so I’m learning.

Maybe the last of the command squad/lieutenant cadre. 
 

I like to think this is what became of the once-loyal Captain Kehan from my Index Traitoris from Iron Gauntlet 2017 in my bio.

 

A duelist, perhaps treating these paired blades as lightning claws. I scuffed up the combat knife a bit to give it more of an Anathema look. 
 

Need to fill out the belt as usual, but I’m happy with the pose and the feel.

Terrain break:

 

Just a few hours of work here, with some drybrushing of Mournfang and Necron Compound for the walls and Skavenblight Dinge, Mechanicus and Administrum Greys for the floors. 

 

Iron Warriors base layer for the vents. 
 

Lots more to do, but I’m trying to use a quick system here.

Very nice. Now the decision to be made is either letting it as it is or trying to go in more details. 

 

For good table top aspect you are already at the right point I guess. And sometimes more is worse. I guess you will anyway paint the opus. I am curious to see the end result.

Loving the kit bashing/conversions you have done, all look superb! That metallic colour gives off grim dark vibes to me and I think it looks awesome! I'll definitely be popping by to keep checking your work. Really great stuff.

Don’t worry, the skull will get shaded.

 

I went back and hit all the cables that looked less like metal housing (Balthasar Gold) with some Black Templar. I like the look of the ribbed cables like on the left remaining black, but I think the ones coming out of the cog icon to the right could use some variety. 
 

Yellow, green, orange or blue? Everyone talks about terrain blending into the background but to me this is a great opportunity to go ham on these exposed cables. Would it be too busy?

It might, given the rest of the model is fairly subdues.  Maybe copper?
