I really like that red grate in the otherwise dull metallic wall - really gives a nice bit of contrast without overwhelming the industrial effect you've got going.  The wires are also a really nice ballance - I'm glad you went with the blue-grey for the longer one, as I think the shorter bit of yellow is more effective than if you had done the longer one in that colour (I feel that alternative would ahve been too garish).

Looking great! It makes me want to give painting terrain a try. It looks like a fun and rewarding activity. Or perhaps it's just your excellent output that gives this impression.

I’m shocked by how much I enjoy it. Seems low stakes, but it’s not necessarily, but the bigger scale seems to inspire a slightly different approach on my end.

There are weeks where nothing happens…

…which has been the last few weeks, for hobby time, at least. Personally and professionally I’m pretty busy so that’s why.

But I feel like I’m close. I think it needs some warm oranges for some rust build up, and maybe some Typhus Corrosion near the base from rain and runoff buildup. Definitely also forgot a dot of white for the lens and some gloss varnish. Can’t decide if the screen is overkill or not.

PS I can’t believe how good Ratling Grime is!

A few new/old acquisitions and some fluff builds (including a corrupted version of the Inceptor I just painted). I think my plan is to paint what I have, including building and painting a jump pack unit, but after that I’d like to switch my focus to newer scaled Marines if I continue building Marines or MEQ’s.

I’m mostly interested in doing some Inquisition faction models for primarily in a Inq28 or RPG setting but maybe also 40k, as it seems I’ve picked a good day for it.

So that’s my plan for the rest of the year along with finishing what terrain I’ve got.

Still got some scraping to do, and nothing is glued yet, but I had a productive day off!

I’ll probably end up adding a few more bits, and I might try this DCC swap with a slightly scarier Furioso claw bit, although it’s going to require some extra work to get it to sit flush.

I'm very partial to that helmet style tbh lol

Me too.

I like it so much that I only wanted to use it once for this army and have been wondering how to *spend* it, as it were. Since I think it looks good with this build, after I finished cleaning up the ear removal it’ll be considered chosen!

Allowed myself the Dreadnought build as a treat on the promise (to myself) that I would do another batch of infantry.

This fella is looking good. They all need some Agrax and a final drybrush of Runefang Steel, but I am always tempted to stop here in the process, and probably could for plenty of contexts.

These stages are efficient in terms of surface area, but are still the longest. The rest will be pretty quick.

I hate how my complicated recipe has left each batch a little different, but I *do* always think my most recent is the best, so I do believe I am improving.

Thanks @Firedrake Cordova.

If I can remember, I’ll try a step by step.
Here is the armor after the Agrax tint, which is heavily watered down and intended to be quite subtle.

This one is part of my largest batch yet of 11 (!): based with Iron Warriors, then drybrushed with Leadbelcher and Ironbreaker lightly and then washed with full strength Nuln Oil, and now this stage with the Agrax tint.

Hopefully I can keep moving one or more stages per day.

Ok-

I'm getting my life cleaned up somewhat, and part of that was organizing my work desk.

That gave me a great opportunity to see how much I had actually done this last year or two, which has been a fairly productive period by my previous standards.

Just a few, and this is not even all the stuff I've done, but here's some photos now that I've cleaned up.

Added some corrosion to the bottom for a splashback effect, which I think worked out well. Need a white dot/Ardcoat on the lens, more splashback/corrosion on the top, and maybe some weathering on the skull. I don't know if it's the color or it's just too clean still, but I think it lacks cohesion with the rest of the model. Otherwise, it's basically finished.

Probably needs some Nihilahk Oxide, otherwise I'm done here, too. It's been interesting to see this terrain revitalized, as I ended up taking mine in a very different way from the new Hivestorm tutorial schemes, but I like that style as well.

Whole accidental squad! By combining my Kill Team (RIP) with the 5 guys from my intended loadout I'm still painting, I've made what is technically a legal squad of counts-as-Grey Hunters.

54058663432_2caee4ca62_z.jpg

Counts as Long Fangs with a plasma toting leader and a counts as Wolf Guard Pack Leader in the back row there with the combi plasma. I'll probably try and paint these next, so maybe I can get in a game before they go to Legends :(.

But, these, of course, are for me! And I'm happy to have done as much as I have.
