I'm mulling over adding a 10-man Catachan squad or two. Y'know me, though, and I want to put my own mark on it. The first idea that came to mind was "jungle --> concrete jungle --> Necromundan Spiders".

Obviously, GW's models are Cadians, but I was envisioning a sort of ragtag urban guerrilla look ala these photographs by Romano Cagnoni of Chechen fighters in the First War:

Thoughts?

The inhabitants of the Ocean World Leonov spend much of their lives on vast floating hab-barges or as the crew of Harvester Submersibles. Strong, able seafarers, they provide the Munitorum their tithe in the form of highly specialized, heavily drilled regiments of scouts, marines, and raiders. These are typically broken up into smaller company-sized units, attached to other Regiments in order to provide them with the unique skills possessed by the ‘Frogmen’. Attached to the 95th at their mustering grounds on Bakka, the Leonov Frogman Brigade consists primarily of troops with experience in securing LZs for Militarum bulk landers and defending them. While they rarely stray from their positions near the Imperial landing zones on Ashimar, the Frogmen are more than willing to take offensive action if called upon.

The Lord Commander Tempestus does not lead from atop a horse. Such a vulgar display of rank is below Jon Moore, Praetoria’s finest son. He has made it a policy to fight with his boots on the ground. A reformer, it was his patronage that led the 95th Praetorian Rifles to fame. While Praetoria is notoriously conservative, even the viscounts, marquesses, lords and ladies of that world look upon him with awe.

Ursula Creed proxy. If it wasn't clear from the writeup, him and Leontus kind of hate one another.

Long time no see, gamers. Bit of something different - a preparations post. I've been painting Fantasy models lately in preparation for TOW, but I'm in the mood for a change of pace. Furthermore, it's no secret I hate painting vehicles. However, I have decided to finally try and jump that hurdle.

To do so, I swear to strip and repaint every single one of my IG tanks in a consistent scheme.

Let the Great Stripping begin.

"Sven," you might say. "What scheme are you going to do after the Great Stripping™?" I'm glad you asked. The following 2nd edition Leman Russ will be the template for my tanks.

Love it. That Demolisher was my dream model as a teenager. I didn’t get it until my early twenties and I still have it. Orginally tried to paint it in that green and black and failed abysmally to make it look right. Now it’s in my grey with the rest of my guard.

I love the paint job on your Wyvern especially. Nice job!

Thank you. I figured since this is a 'retro' army of sorts, a 'retro' tank scheme is fitting.
