It has the Torrent 9" rule, so you can have it angled as long as the wide end of the flamer template is no closer to the model than the short end. Gives it a bit of flexibility, but most template weapons are not great in 2.0.

That doesn't change the fact that you cannot hit a target out of line of sight with a flame template. Torrent doesn't change that nor does the rules of this tank.

If someone got that precious about the rules I'm not sure I could ever play them again. That is a brutal read.

Why though?

It's one on one how the rules work.

I think the problem was, that they just made copy paste with the tank and whoever did that didn't know how the rules work either. The gun shouldn't be mounted centraline but instead in Hull- front.

BOOM, problem solved.

That would be my house rule fix.

It is important to know these things to talk about it with the gaming group beforehand. I never knew that either because I didn't gave the thing a second look. Now I thought about buying it and as you do gave her rules a glance and again GW :cuss:ed up.

I dewrly hope against hope that they really make a 2.5 edition which solve all those problems without making the game worse.

Fingers crossed.

Edit:

I tried to find a picture of that tank and type "SA flamer tank" into google.

I didn't saw pictures of the GW tank :D

Oh I understand that it's the rules and if someone really wanted to play it that way I'd get it. However I would definitely house rule it. If a once glorious tank that no longer shines with its OP glory anymore can't be used due to poorly written rules...

Yeah, it's most likely that it (the gun) was meant to be 'hull front' mounted and not 'centreline'

Probably one of the many slips that apparently occured during 2.0's seemingly rushed rules writing if you ask.

The 2.0 rules in general are nice and have grown on me, but some things just feel so ... unfinished.

Let's hope they'll give us a FAQ update at some point, but I wouldn't be counting on it.
