More progress today. I finished my last 4 crusaders. So that’s 6 squads fully painted.

Also, finally dug out the last of my tanks. What better for a crusade about finding lost relics than a relic sicaran tank. My absolute favorite tank chassis.

And finally, the next painting project after all of the initiates…. A tale of two dreadnoughts.

Oh my,

That is a lovely armory you've got there.

Love the use of spot colours to brake up the black.

Also realy digging the assault squad.

I hope the wheelchair is temporary?

Keep it up!

Rinke

thank you for your kind words.

yes the wheelchair is temporary. I completely shattered my ankle about 6 weeks ago. Metal plates and screws and all to fix it. 3-6 month recovery time is what they told me.

Glad to hear you're on the mend. May Larraman's Blessing be upon you.

Also, great progress. I particularly like the old FW Dread - the chain on the DCCW is a nice touch and the glow effect of the plasma cannon looks stellar.

I finally got to dive into the army box. Here is my first Primaris Crusader Squad assembled.

I’m truly impressed with the detail of these miniatures. I told myself that I was going to finish painting all of my first born stuff before I started on any of the Primaris but I don’t know if I’m going to be able to resist.

I played my first game tonight in about 8 years. My opponent was running a World Eaters army.

World Eaters:

Khârn

Demon Prince

2 champions

2 squads of terminators

3 squads of bezerkers

2 squads of cultists

2 rhinos

Black Templars:

Helbrecht

Grimaldus

Judicar

2 redemptor dreadnoughts

2 primaris crusader squads

2 crusader squads

2 drop pods

inceptor squad

Relic Sicaran

Turn 1 Highlights: I exploded one of his rhinos transporting Khârn. A lot of maneuvering from both armies.

Turn 2 Highlights: took 1 squad of terminators down to 1 remaining. Killed one more from the other squad. Sicaran was destroyed.

Turn 3 Highlights: Primaris crusaders charged Khârn and a unit of bezerkers with one of the neophytes landing the killing blow on Khârn. Drop pods come in crusader squad chews through cultists to take objective in opponents deployment zone.

Turn 4 Highlights: 2nd Primaris squad gets charged by a bezerker squad. Neophytes tank all of the wounds leaving 1 alive. Who landed the final blow wiping out that squad. Demon Price charges Helbrecht. Judicar intervenes giving Helbrecht the opportunity to slay the Demon Price with a two-handed attack.

With the challenge issued at the beginning of the game, Helbrecht slaying the Demon Price netted me 15 points. With all other objectives throughout the game, we called it at this point.

Well brothers, progress has resumed after the holidays and being back at work. My collection has grown between the army set I got for Christmas and I was able to arrange a couple of trades for some of my old chaos models getting some new Primaris to expand my crusade. I spent several hours last night breaking apart, rebuilding and repairing several pieces. So, the painting queue is pretty full but that’s the nature of the eternal crusade.

Looks like you’ve been quite busy !!

yes lol. I don’t know what he used to put the models on the bases but it was a pain getting them off and swapped to the correct ones. I broke a few feet in the process. Getting the neophyte shoulder pads off of the initiates had me cussing :wallbash:
