Well, since 05/25 and 05/26 have been holidays in my country, I manage to accommodate my times a bit, to assemble some more renegades. So if all goes well by tonight you should have them done. A final run at the end of the month.

 

I, Mandaloriano, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of May pledge to complete a renegade with banner, a renegade with command net vox, and an autocannon weapons team by month's end.

Well now... Four days in the month to go and I am finally able to make a vow.

 

I, Brother Argent, vow to fail miserably at painting 10x Necron Warriors and 3x Scarab Swarms by the end of the month.  I say fail as I struggle to paint these guys for some reason.  I love the models but they are just a struggle.

 

 

I may actually vow something else in the next day or so just to try to get something done.

 

Now, to at least make a start...

The wolfquads are May's vow, which is now completed. The flamers (and fuel packs) have been left as press-fit, so they can be swapped out for the (as yet unpainted) alternative weapon options.

 

And because these represent the last of the Atalan Jackals I've had in the painting stack, here's a group shot of the whole biker gang - most of it represents March, April and May's painting efforts, which three others and the Alphus, all painted previously.

I think painting the bases for these guys early on as well as reminding myself they are likely the last warriors I will paint in a hell of a while, now having forty three of them, may have helped inspire me.  I almost enjoyed painting them.

 

Anyway, onto next month now I guess,

 

I, Brother Argent, vow to paint (amongst other things) for the Month of June 4x building ruins.

 

 

I will vow both lots now as I will prime both at the same time.  I am not looking forward to the amount of work in these, particularly when I am now a month behind on my planned position with the magazine but I clearly needed the break.

Not a very successful month for me - The Telemon is done, but hes not my best work, I may revisit him later. I didn't have a massive amount of painting time with concentration available so while I managed to get the ZM walls done (they are pretty much auto pilot for me now), the EC dreads and rubrics aren't complete - the rubrics might get completed in overtime (the missing heads/arms/backpacks are well in flight, the EC dreads I'm still working on the bodies and haven't even touched the arms so they'll fully roll over to June.

So for the month of May I finished- 3 arco-flagellants, 3 Redemptionist preachers, 1 random Inquisition bodyguard, 1 Hounds of Abaddon Terminator, 1 witch and 4 familiars, and 7 Orlock gangers. Not the best output this last month, as I got distracted with painting some Battletech minis, but with the upcoming Call to Arms event I've got a lot of stuff to do (looking at 90-some models to do in 3 months), so I'm not worried.

Those familiars are great, Ikka. What will you use them for?

 

My June vow is a reductus saboteur - she was an ebay purchase, and it turns out the backpack was missing, so I've had to improvise with something out of my wife's bits box, but I think it's turned out okay. And it feels fairly on-brand for a remote detonations expert to have a long-range radio kit.

 

I, Rogue, vow to complete one reductus saboteur before the end of June.

 

 

And on a side note, I'm looking forward to the summer painting challenge. I'm never a huge contributor (I'm already painting as fast as I can), but I've always enjoyed being part of things like this and the ETL, so thanks for putting it together, Grot.
