Yesterday I had my first game with arks of omen.
win for the Space wolves against Tau.

My list benefits a lot from the new points and i dont mis armour of contempt at all. I even think we’re doing better witout so our free thunderhammers and lightningclaws have more effect, and we have free stormshields anyway, witch in my opinion are still better then aoc.

its hard to hide three units of twc. He got first turn so shot his whole army but only still deleted one unit plus one twc.

my first turn i managed to get stormcaller, cloaked by the storm and take the middle. Next turn he shot another unit twc +1. So only two twc left, but then in my second turn i charged him with my wulfen, termys and twc.

finally he scored a lot on secondarys but i maxed out on primary.

Does all the advice you got about flyers make more sense now?

Haha yes. But i still think they can deal a ton of dammage comming out of reserve. And if you then can eliminate the main antitank guns they can still cause some headaches.

but terminators an longfangs can do the same job plus can hold objectives etc.

friday our tournament starts and I’ll keep you updated on the other thread.

More value for points spent is how you make a stronger list

Suppressor are good to have when going against crazy plasma crisis suit or heavy weapon team. shoot before your CC charges. Just need a hit. :)

Is it true that thunderhammers are now 10pnts on the terminators? My BattleScribe says it but i cant find it in the munitorum field manuel.

I literally just bought a box of wolf Termies for the free hammers. Ah well at least the hounds of Morkai will see play ( I highly doubt they will see any nerf. Lol)

That would depend in a ton of factors. If it’s against a vehicle chainfists are far better. After that armor save, wounds and defensive abilities like -1 damage matter.

Okay so where is the hammer expense coming from?

as a side note I have the models cleaned and torsos glued but really am worried GW will mess me up on this. What is a solid Wolves Termie build? Are claws worth it at all now?

The advantage of claws was that they were cheap and still moderately effective. Now that wargear is free, I don't see a big use for Claws. WE can get decent chaff clearance elsewhere.

I would say the best build is probably all combi-weapons with a mix of Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields. Of course tat may change in 6 months time if we start paying for wargear again.

Maybe Wolfguard, the ones that don’t have Terminator armor.
