These aren't completed, being as they are unpainted...but they're definitely Oldhammer!

I got a pleasantly affordable (£11 each!) metal Wraithlord and War Walker from the Troll Trader; the Wraithlord was in a bit of a sorry state, having had its feet inexplicably sawn off and replaced with greenstuff substitutes, but they had everything I wanted on them and for a good price.  Having been introduced to the old Eldar Scout Walker "official conversion" from RT courtesy of Magpie and Old Lead's blog, I decided to have a go at it myself, and put it together from the bits and pieces. The only differences from the guide are the use of the shield panel from the War Walker for the underslung weapon mount (as I had it and not the period-accurate smaller weapon pintle) and the addition of the starcannon using the Wraithlord's backpack. This way I could hypothetically run the model as a War Walker. He's on the right in the photo- I call him a "Wraithstalker". He has quite a bit of Zentaredi Regult in him (from Macross) IMO! On the left is the result of me mashing together the rest of the parts (aside from one arm) and the spare feet, missile launcher and pair of shuriken catapults from the plastic Wraithlord kit into one "Siege Strider". Intended as a more assault-oriented War Walker, with a bit more bite in melee than the normal variety at the expense of some firepower, I imagine this would be used for close-quarter fighting when a Wraithlord is not available for whatever reason. The little "turret" is actually the pelvis from the converted Wraithstalker with a pair of plastic nubbins and the afforementioned shuriken catapults attached.

I will do a couple of additional pics during the weekend. Right now I have the following models in my pic albums that either were released during the RT era or 2nd 40K:

No. Think more along the lines that the (on mine) blue rectangles clamp onto the armour and the twisting tears it apart. This was even supported further in the 3rd edition BA Codex whereby the Dreadnoughts with two of these fists would perform a special "tear attack" which was basically a stronger version of what I've just typed out.

The Dreadnought's base strength would represent the bulk/speed/etc of getting the fist into place. With it being a type of power weapon, that's where the bonus to strength comes from too.

A freshly repainted Vindicator in my usual SW livery.

This model is my all times favorite. Probably the one I wanted the most deeply buying from all the ones I adquired in my collection since 89. At the time, I waited months before getting the funds to spend the money. I hadn't that much at the time. I still feel a lot of nostalgy when looking at it.

Another oldy from my collection, freshly reactualized.

This lefts me with only 1 ooP Rhino to paint (and 6 wolves I share with my gobs wolfboyz) before getting 100% of my SW/SM models painted. Looks like the end of the road.

And it is a fine road you have trodden. I see you too favour the dark slate blue for Wolves. Well met.

Thanks.

A fine and long road Indeed. 18k pts or something of first born, as they are known now, collected since 93. All are or soon will be worth of the oldhammer range once the full primaris transition of the GW range will be completed.

My repainting task started during lockdown. And is the achievement of 3 decades of hobby. This will deserve a family portrait...

In order to change a little bit, a non SM model!

Eldar Spirit Warrior:

Saim-hann livery, as usual, even if a Wild-Rider soul being trapped into a wraith structure is probably as odd as a White Scar incarcerated into a Dreadnought sarcophage...

I love the 2E Land Speeder, probably my favourite version of it if I'm honest! That's a great paintjob too.

Oh sweet! Gotta love that old War Robot, even if it is just a smaller head on a Wraithlord (Eldar Dreadnought) body. Shame they never brought it or the smaller Ghost Warrior drones back.
