I'm a Chaos Knight player rather than Imperial but there's enough crossover in the data sheets to get some interesting bits from this.

22 wounds on Canis Rex. So up in toughness on the big knights, but down in wounds.

Thundercoil harpoon looks fun.

Melta 4 on the thermal spear is nice.

Less potential attacks on the battle cannon, but less variance (2D6 vs D6+3)

If you can hit your deed early, a 5+ FNP on top of the high toughness, high wounds and range invuln, might just be enough to survive OOM Marine armies!

Is rapid fire, so if you are at half range (36") is 2d6+6+blast.

Is so good.

No mention of the Cerastus Knights, or at least the Lancer. Would be a bit weird if they weren't included now they're getting a plastic kit... but then again, maybe that's being saved for the actual Codex.

Is it coming out as a HH kit or? Doesn't look like there is any rules for HH kits for 10th launch, will come later.

Oh I missed that! That is........a lot of shots. And at 36" so you rarely won't be in rapid fire range on most tables.

Nice.

For the index I don´t think will be see new units (leviatan box as exception, of course) so if the cerastus is comming to 40K, we wil need to wait to the codex.

T10 on armiger is good, normal melta need 5+ to wound it(previous 3+), and almost immune to small arms.

"However, in contrast to their traitor cousins, Imperial Knights are all about working together, with Questoris Knights shepherding smaller Armigers to success through improved Bondsman abilities, while larger Dominus Knights grant them the protection of their wider ion shields."

Bondsman abilities still exist. Seems no more free -1dmg above it, else DG players would go rage.

Nothing so far about Freeblades (/dreadblades) units disclosed atm... May be we have to wait for te Chaos Knights faction focus to be issued to get an idea of how it might work (Thinking hard at Knight of the cog for AdMechs)...

This is a little bit disapointing,

Still astonished by the OC value of Arminger. Otherwise, no real big changes ... (except the rapid fire battle cannon!!!)

Probably won't even wait for the codex. If all the units are on cards until the codex release, makes sense to just pop it's datasheet out for download or added to the app

I think we will get the 40k datasheet for it when it's released to help boost sales.

Nice.

I think CK will no longer have options of paying points for equipping two of this gun on one model.

So there is nothing in this article i don't like except the drop in wound count for the questoris (down 22 from 24). But with the extra toughness and the basic detachment getting FNP it still good.

Also per the studio section we still have bondsmen abilities and they confer two bonuses. the paladin's is definitely an anti-vehicle bonus as Lethal Hit and Lance is kind of a waste against infantry unless Transhuman is still a thing.

And anyone else notice the harpoon was a BS 2+, means that it can be used in engagement range and hits on a respectable 3+.

Loving this and can't wait to see how the helverin faired.

Not a popular opinion but I think Knights should of been kept as allied add-on units, I've never had much fun playing or playing against full Knight armies. Very hard to balance against conventional armies, especially in objective games. They just kind of go against the combined arms 'HQ, two troops' nature of the game.

I like the sound of this. RFBC feels cool, seems to have the volume of fire that I don't mind the drop to AP-1 so much.

Oaths being much simpler is definitely a good thing. The counter to get honoured was interesting, but also needlessly convoluted.

Canis Rex seems like a CC-monster, and being able to use a strat like shoulder the burden for free makes him positively terrifying.

10th may actually be a good edition for me to do something with my pile of shame, including Knights.

I also think I am getting to the disposition of needing to just pick a scheme and getting on with it.

With the Cerastus coming to plastic I'm seriously considering sprucing up the couple of Knights I have painted and giving them a real go as an army for 10th. Will be good to get those big boys still on their sprue out of the backlog and onto the table.

Nothing about if other armies can take a Knight as an ally?

We already got this information a long time ago (Relatively speaking), though not in specific;

"** Though exemptions are in place for classic cross-faction combos like summoned Chaos Daemons, Freeblade Knights, or Brood Brothers."

So we don't know how those will work, but if it works similar to how Daemons ally in (As shown in the CSM article), they'll just be allowed to be taken up to a point threshold based on game size, and receive no benefit from the Faction bonuses.

Dang, they’re looking pretty strong! Better pack loads of chainfists.

Bit of an odd interaction with the harpoon getting a critical wound and multi vehicle units, such as sentinels. I guess it requires a bit of abstraction, but what, are we pretending there’s a perfectly lined up shot to pierce two of them at once, or something? Or it shoots through one, then yanks back the harpoon and pulls it through the other? :D Silliness.

At least it’s 1 shot, FWIW.

Or a 6 to wound on a squad of terminators!  I guess a few of them line up and get turned into a kebab?
