E:A, 3k GT. The armoured battalion took to the field under their new commander, who immediately sank to the bottom of a toxic swamp under enemy fire. Despite the Dark Mechanicus commander getting unceremoniously crushed under Baneblade treads with their whole terminator retinue, the Guard tanks faltered in their deployment area without proper leadership to drive them onwards and the day was ultimately carried by the machine-beasts of Chaos.

Brulliant stuff Mr Pie!!

Not a lick of conversions here, but a great feeling to have an Aerial Assault Formation completed for Teh Furst Lejion.

Good stuff. While LI struggles a bit with area terrain buildings, you could perhaps manage multiple small ones like that as one abstract "base"-type piece of terrain. Ruleswise it could be like ruins or woods, something that isn't completely open with all the little houses and trash bags but won't offer reinforced cover either like bigger structures.

There is a statline in the book for fortification-style structures but they may be too strong, good news is they can only hold one detachment. We've been toying with capping infantry detachments at 6 anyway, so could probably see like 4-6 bases taking refuge inside. I sorta long for like a planetstrike style expansion but instead of pure attack/defend, maybe just a game mode or scenario where both side have to spend a certain amount of points on defense/structures/bunkers/trenches etc. Might be fun to have higher value structures be worth vp's if destroyed or become the objectives or something along those lines.

I finished my take on Penumbral Reaper this past week, here’s a quick shot. I’ll try to get the light box out at the end of the week or something, but this will do for now.

I went a little off script with this one. The shield transfers on the official Penumbral Reaper don’t exist in 8mm and I sure as hell wasn’t trying to freehand them or commission custom transfers. I also decided to forego the generic white transfers in the Opus Titanicus on the pauldrons for the more detailed FW / GW versions, same with the icon in the middle of the top crest (though I skipped the pentagon it sits on). I kinda of wish I had used the more detailed axe transfers on the knee, but those were done first before I decided to go my own route. Same goes for the banners, I’m not making those.

I’ve always wondered why just this Titan had a Lucius Pattern head, of which GW never actually produced, until I found the answer fairly recently. Penumbral Reaper is actually the 28mm Warlord FW used to display the Lucius Pattern head along with the weapons when first released. You can find old photos online of it and you’ll see it’s the exact same Warlord, only scaled up (or down in the case of AT / LI).

It’s a pity that its actual rules in AT are kind of… meh. It’s not horrible, but for some reason it has a set weapon configuration whereas other Titans of Legend have the ability to use any available weapons. This armament combination is definitely not my first choice… or anywhere on my list. It’s not optimal at all, it has no shield stripping ability so it requires support, and truth be told I have never once used a Power Fist on any of my Warlords. With that in mind, I did grab a Volkite Destructor and Conversion Beam Extirpator to swap on and either use as a generic Warlord or house rule it. I may grab other weapons to use exclusively with this one, as I carried over the scheme from the proscribed weapon loadout over to these and in my haste, reversed the polarity of the magnets on this guy compared to my other Warlords… sigh.

Anyhow, sorry for the rambling. I’ll get some more pics with the alternate weapon options later this week.
