Thank you @Gillyfish, more to come :)

Painted a squadron of Valkyries for today's game. Selen II's armoured brigade can finally field infantry as well now that they have *some* proper transports for them :D

This time in Epic gaming: a three-way variant of the Battle of the Sulphur River, 4k NetEA armies (to win you must control the bridges and roadside towns). We altered the initiative system slightly so that each player could make one activation on both opposing fronts and retain on one of them before passing the initiative to avoid the common three player death-spiral where you must do something against one player while repeatedly getting pummeled by the other without time to respond. It worked really well.

The Orks and Imperial Fists went hard at each other, giving the PDF tankers ample time to roll over and smash their bridges clear with tonnes of merciless steel, ultimately taking the third bridge as well with a daring Valkyrie drop of stormtroopers who had gotten themselves together after spending most of the game panicking in a corner after repelling an orbital Ork drop hurtling towards them through the nearby office tower.

Epic game day at the club, four tables of Epic: Armageddon. Eldar, Death Guard, hellforged monstrosities, screaming mutants, Imperial Fists and a Guard's armoured battalion (my force) bashed it out through the day.

Also took a WIP family photo of Selen II's tankers, even if many of them still languish without their proper highlights...

Some inspiring stuff as always @Sherrypie! How did you get on against the Eldar? I had a game with them last week and they have some really annoying tricks (the extra activation and hit & run tactics especially!)

Some photos from a 30k Armageddon game, World Eaters vs Imperial Fists. The Fists had a really cool defensive theme (with mined areas, bunkers and these beautifully modelled bastions). My Warhound died (need to find the Latin for 'dies repeatedly' for its name), but I was able to get the objective of destroying the enemy most expensive unit.

Gave a friend a small intro game of Armageddon, Night Lords (using the Heresy 1.0 lists from EpicUK), vs Dark Mechanicum - we used the Iron Warriors list. Thanks for the advice on that @Sherrypieas it worked well!

The anti-infantry weaponry on the walkers absolutely decimated my infantry-heavy army, although my opponent enjoyed the game and the rule system which is the main thing!

Some photos from a recent UK tournament run by the Epic GT guys. Always a lovely spread of armies at these events! And they had to release more tickets for players, which is a great sign.

I set up a little dockside invasion demo of EA for a local scale modeling event while the rest of the club brought historics like BA and TY. Not a proper game but more of an exhibition table where the visitors could come chat and try out a few moves. Good discussions were had about how the scale of the games would be reflected on the other tables, like how the small BA platoon-level rifleman skirmish would occupy just a small spot on the Epic table where companies surge forwards as artillery and aircraft duel over the titans as the whole countryside burns.

It's an off-table marker to remind players that there will be orbital drops and bombardments at some point. The EA book has this whole song and dance bit about using BFG minis for this purpose, which is absolutely unnecessary for any gameplay-related reasons.

Awesome, assumed it was either something like that or a last min forgotten mini proxy haha.

This is true, but it does give you an excuse to get a lovely BFG mini of some sort, and do something fun with a diorama! There are some really great ones out there.

While I do love showing off my minis as much as the next hobbyist, I just personally can't comprehend this particular thing :D

Cool objectives on the table? Great! Neat conversions for fictional details and special scenarios, such as logistics vehicles? Great! A specific mini to set up and push over the table at some point (while making appropriate 'woooosh brrrrmp boom boom' noises) to indicate that you did a thing that actually involved marking a specific spot on the table without any contribution from that mini when that's the only thing in the game that's like that? Like, sure, but why?

...one could always just play BFG as well, get as many ships as you like :D

I assume it dates from a time when BFG was unsupported but Epic was limping on (in an official sense) so it was a way of offering the miniature a lifeboat? But now they are both games living their best life free of GW it does seem a bit  incongruous - but you’d bankrupt yourself finding multiple ships these days, so if you just want the one, this is a good outing for it.

As someone who has *lots* of BFG ships and regularly finds more... you really wouldn't, unless you want specific ships and you want them right now. Even less so if you are fine with prints and third party offerings, of which there are now tons of.

Anyway, in Epic: played a couple of E:A GT scenarios today, 5k and 3k. Ground down some Nids with my Selen II tankers. Highlights included: killing a Hive Tyrant with a random Valkyrie rocket in the eye, driving a 21 unit strong synapse swarm to the ground with a Baneblade company charge and beating a subsequently charging Hierophant back with the same company for good measure.

Yes these are my thoughts. I'd like to play BFG but there is only so much hobby time in the day. I'm converting my Legions force to Armageddon & have to get one to deploy my dreadclaws, so have ordered one of these Space Fleet-looking ships. Going to fit it to some brass rod, then have a mini nuke mushroom cloud on the 12cm template at the bottom for the orbital strike.
