Firedrake Cordova
The more I look at it, the more I think there's an element of optical illusion in there, due to a combination of the hunched forward running pose, and the shape of the helmet creating a false impression. I think if the head is "low", you're probably only talking about 0.25mm or so. sitnam 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380682-sitnams-wip-shop-sororitas/page/3/#findComment-6088646 Share on other sites
ZeroWolf
Love the idea behind the conversion, I think i can kind of see what others have said, but it does look to me like he's just hunched over, trying not to get his head blown off sitnam and Firedrake Cordova 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380682-sitnams-wip-shop-sororitas/page/3/#findComment-6088661 Share on other sites
bloodhound23
Nice work with the contrast paints and I’m a huge fan of the Tzeentchian infantry kitbashes. Appreciate it, I loved how they came out. I'm tempted to do a second squad once I clear up my backlog.  Speaking of my backlog, I finished my Gue'vesa kitbash:   I'll hold off on painting these guys until March when the Knives in the Shadows start. Now I just got to figure out the Dal'lyth paint scheme Pearson73, Dr_Ruminahui, Firedrake Cordova and 1 other 3 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380682-sitnams-wip-shop-sororitas/page/3/#findComment-6090315 Share on other sites
Solution Dr_Ruminahui Posted January 26 Solution Share Posted January 26 (edited) They look really good - the helmets do really make them look distinct, even with the tau weapon ends, chest and shoulder plate.  What's with the actual Tau there? Just for comparison? BTW, not sure if its just the photo, but the gun on the guy next to him looks... odd, as if it doesn't line up straight. ZeroWolf
I think it's the angle of the figure? I'm sure that's the one that was discussed further up, running with his head down. If the base was rotated slightly it would make a difference. These guys are part of an expedition with only a limited number of T'au, so Gue'vesa squads take the role of Fire Warriors, with most of the Fire Caste forces being Crisis and tank cadres. The few actual Fire Warriors attach to Gue'vesa squads, taking up a variety of roles from Drone operators to Squad leader, depending on rank and experience  Your right about that one guys gun. I don't think I flattened it out enough. I snapped off the T'au end and re-filed it, I think it looks a little better. I'm hoping a paint job will also help blend the two weapons parts together  Quote I think it's the angle of the figure? sitnam
I'm coming come to completion on the Gue'vesa kill team. About half of the humans are done, with the other half about 90% done. Then it's on to the Fire Warrior liason and drones  The nearly complete half  The complete half  The only really difference between the two halves at this point is some highlighting on the leather and grey and the camo pattern Dr_Ruminahui, Firedrake Cordova, Tallarn Commander and 2 others 4 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380682-sitnams-wip-shop-sororitas/page/3/#findComment-6101169 Share on other sites
sitnam
Now that I have my Call to Arms complete, I decided to go back to my first love: Sisters of Battle. I started painting 6 years ago (after a 8 year hiatus) when the new SoB range came out. Since 2019 my painting has came a long way, and it's kind of discouraged me from expanding my Sisters because all my newer armies look much better. My wife got me a Dogmata back in December, and I love how she came out  Spoiler  So now I've started touching up the paint jobs on my old minis. Not stripping, just retouching the base coats and adding actual highlights.  Pre-touchups Spoiler  Post-Touchups Spoiler  C&C definitely welcome Grotsmasha, Tallarn Commander, Dr_Ruminahui and 1 other 3 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380682-sitnams-wip-shop-sororitas/page/3/#findComment-6130200 Share on other sites

sitnam
I completed my (now illegal) Celestian and Dominion squads for the touch up project  Spoiler  I'm now working on my old BSF priests and the army set Arcos. Thaddeus and Pious Vorne were some of the first minis I painted for this army IIRC  Spoiler  I also got the parts I needed for my Traitor Guard officer. My original plan was to kitbash a Breacher torso on a Cadian Castellan, but instead I got a Navy Breacher body and Inquisitorial Mystic body cheaper on eBay, so I combined the torso of the breacher with the robes of the Mystic. It doesn't quite give the coat aesthetic I was going for, more looking like robes. But since he is an officer for a Tzeentch army, I think it kind of works. His head wasn't my first choice, but I gave my son the choice and that is what he chose.  Spoiler  Dr_Ruminahui, Tallarn Commander and Grotsmasha 1 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380682-sitnams-wip-shop-sororitas/page/3/#findComment-6131256 Share on other sites
Tallarn Commander
That is a head that is truly befitting a Renegade Commander.
