Hi guys,

here’s my 1000 points sons of Sanguinius list. I play mostly against my mate’s T’au which always has a Riptide, Crisis bomb with quad fusion coldstar, Shadowsun, Broadsides and filled out with fire warriors.

I run an Ultima Founding Blood Angels Successor so no first born units.

Chaplain will run with bladeguard in the impulsor.

I think the biggest problem with the list is the tremendous lack of synergy with the Sons of Sanguinius detachment. You have only 1 dedicated melee unit (and really just a harassment unit at it's size) in a dedicated melee detachment. A big part of the problem is that melee datasheets aren't strong enough to take advantage of a melee detachment. Honestly I think you'd be much better off with Gladius.

Another issue I see is a lack of mobility.

I understand you want to stay primaris only, so I'm gonna recommend a squad of inceptors. They're a great unit to nab secondaries and far-flung objectives, and pack a decent punch while they're at it.

I know this leaves you being just 'red marines,' but that's the world we live in at the moment.

Agree with Paladin777 regards SOS Vs Gladius, we get so much better movement and enhanced tactical flexibility including fall back and charge under Gladius.  SOS is about punching hard but you've reduced mobility, you don't need much to kill a fire warrior or any of the Tau for that matter in melee.

Rites of Battle and free stratagems is huge.

I'd consider changing out the chaplain for a Captain just for that.

Incursors are at their best marking targets for plus one to hit, could you drop an Intercessor squad for a second squad of them?

Inceptors are going to help you too
