So flicking through the Heresy section, I've had the following issues:

  • Constant internal server errrors (error 500)
  • The paper version of the new Exemplary Battles book redirects you to the Angron: Red Angel paperback when clicked on. But adds the correct book to the basket if you click the quick-basket icon.
  • The ePub Heresy books come with the gigantic buy it now banner - with no purchase now button on. Which is the weirdest, they've not combined all their sites with this update, Warhammer Digital is still separate, and there's no clear redirect in place.

Most annoyingly, the spinning circle icon while the page loads spins anti-clockwise. ANTI-CLOCKWISE! There's no practical effect, but I guess I've been conditioned to seeing the loading icon spin clockwise EVERYWHERE, it looks so jarring spinning backwards.

I get lot of errors, this simply hasn't been tested properly !

My dear Gnasher, we are the testers....

On a side note, I can't recall anything from GW in the last week or 2 that told us/warned us they were doing this - anyone?

Just the "fix your vouchers before October 30th" emails. But those didn't hint at this.

Seriously though, if I had stumbled onto the new Website without knowing GW had signed off on this abomination, I'd've assumed GW had been hacked and someone :cuss:ed up the HTML while uploading the virus payload.

Hah, I'm now getting cart reminder emails from the old FW website, with links to pages that no longer exist (of course). Sorry but this is just amateur hour.

I just got an email about 20min back about an "Alert me when up for sale again" I'd had on the Sicaran about three years back, haha. An alert I'd acknowledged and bought one back then at the time of a few months after ticking that alert me button.

Thats actually kind of scary. To hold an email for that long in some kind of limbo? Yikes GW.

GW: Quick, attached all your vouchers to your "My warhammer" NOW!
Me: Okay, sure thing GW.

<a few days later>

Me: Hey, my Voucher balance on "My warhammer" is zero!
GW: Just as planned!

Wow, I really do not like the new website.

I don't enjoy using it on phone or computer, and I don't like how it looks. A lot less distinctive and unique than before - Bits of it feel like scrolling through a random site that could be selling 3D printed models.

I can't help but wonder if this is going to cause them some headaches this holiday season - getting rid of wishlists and making your site harder to navigate can't be a good thing for sales around Christmas, can it?

I hope this is just fake hyperbole but heard they paid 6mil for the website... whoever designed it really doesn't deserve more than a Happy Meal from Mickey Ds, without the toy!

I just can't shake the feeling whoever designed the website had it out for GW cause you can't just make such a bad website in 2023.

I’m sure they paid quite a bit - maybe even more than that - but 6 million is, IIRC, what was quoted for the last website revamp, with at least a little bit of controversy over the fact that the bid was apparently won by a company that the former CEO’s wife worked for.

As a caveat, both sites could have coincidentally cost around the same amount, so who knows.

Joining the GW & FW websites was a good thing.  That’s the end of the good news.  This new website (I refuse to call it an upgrade) is an absolute train crash.

The timing, just before the busy Xmas period, is also a head scratcher.  Why not hold off to the post holiday period lull to set it loose?

I could go on, but others have covered the site’s deficiencies better than I could.

I will be looking around for another pace to purchase unless they fix it asap.
