Very nice all those characters.

Really love your not black recept. Is that the grimdark technique you can find on youtube?

No. Just primarily my black power armor slap-chop recipe. Sometimes I'll go back with some grays and hit the high points or edges?

Grimaldus with his servitors. The one with the banner was probably the most involved Black Templar miniature I've painted. None of it very difficult just so much going on with that banner.

High Marshal Helbrecht has joined the crusade!

Some explanation is warranted here. Helbrecht is one of the Black Templar models that I struggle with the most. He is deceptive, because he doesn't look like much of a challenge, yet he is. That is one of the reasons why I don't also use his base miniatures, the dead ork and the servitors. He is challenging enough. The other reason is that I'm not generally a fan of elaborate bases with additional miniatures on them. I didn't use The Lion's watchers in the dark, or Asmodai's big swirling wisps of smoke either. That is why he is built as he is.

Lieutenant Amardus. One of the original Unnumbered Sons of Dorn's bloodline and by temperament assigned to the Black Templars, Amardus's rank and position is a rare breed among the chapter. He has been very successful in his duties and is a direct member of Marshal Tiberius's Household.

Chaplain Karnak, Crusade Chaplain of the Araxxian Nebula Crusade. His armor is blacker irl versus how the pics show it.

I was really split on doing his trim in gold. I normally use GW's Retributor Gold, but decided to give AP's Greedy Gold another try (I had previously written it off versus using Retributor Gold).

My gut instinct was to do all the trim in silver, but then I saw a painted BT chaplain in all silver trim on Google image search and I just wasn't impressed by it. Also thought of using GW's Runelord Brass?

So I used AP Fanatic's Greedy Gold, then some GW Reikland Flesh Shade, then another edge highlight/layer of Greedy Gold.

His black armor is more black irl, in the pics it comes off as sorta dusty gray lol

Great work! I think the gold on the Chaplain works well. The silver trim would work, too, but the rich gold you ended up with is dope. How would you rate AP's Gold? I've been using their silvers for quite some time and they're great (unlike Vallejo's).

I think GW's Retributor Gold still has the edge over AP Fanatics Greedy Gold. But that by no mean = its not viable to use! I'd use AP Fanatics Greedy Gold too when I feel like it.

I use AP Fanatic's silver series of paints; Gun Metal, Plate Mail Metal, Shining Silver, and Mithril. I like them! But I'm now trying Vallejo's metals, starting with their silvers at the moment. GW, Army Painter Fanatic, and Vallejo have been my three go-to paint manufacturers, and I'm trying out different AP and Vallejo lines of paint to see which are my favorites for certain colors and types.

So far my favorite shades are GW. Reds, browns, GW. Greens, grays, marron reddish to pink (think the robes for DA inner circle companions), AP Fanatic. Bone is between Vallejo and AP. Gold is GW's Retributor, plus their brighter Liberator. Silvers, so far, are AP Fanatics, but I'm trying some Vallejo's atm. My go-to Black and white are Vallejo, both Game Color and Model Color versions. GW's Corax Black is worth its weight in gold :)

Thank you for the broad review of paints. Personally, I'm moving away from GW's paints, unless I really need a particular colour (e.g. Phoenician Purple). But it's really cool that there are so many viable and budget-friendly options out there. Vallejo and AP really upped their game.

Enjoy and keep crusading!
