Adeptekon
I personally won't go vehicles other than bikes until they're at scale, but looking forward to seeing yours. Place base upside down, trace, and cut. Paints up real quick and easy and ends up looking good. I do this for all of my Black Templars and Dark Angels. I added a Repulsor Executioner to my crusade today! A gift from a good friend, for doing building and painting work for him. Helias_Tancred
Execrator Chaplain Ulbrecht. The last pic is one comparing my two execrators in my collection. I was concerned at first about making two separate and unique characters from the same kit with the same body holding the same pose. I feel it was a success. I've gotten in some 11th edition games. So far I'm 1-1-2. I've been running Companions of Vehemence and Wrathful Procession for my 2k games and just Companions of Vehemence for my 1k games. The 11th edition core rules are excellent, but we suffer from poor to mediocre-at-best faction-specific detachments, and the general space marine ones we also use are better but not by much. It still boggles my mind why Righteous Crusaders was allowed to die with our 10th edition index and NOT ported to our 10th edition codex release. Sure, it would have had to have been modified because of our army rule change, but it could have remained a good all-around detachment for us in the codex (as it had been) had anyone at GW bothered to have made the effort. Instead, they gave us some crap niche/gimmicky detachments. Big fail on them. We see the results now as 11th has gotten off the ground. Well, we don't know how expensive they are going to end up with the upgrades they're receiving from the new codex. They will still be T4 but with an 8" movement. Their pistols probably will go to S5, same for their combat blade, but eveything else remain the same. Helias_Tancred
I used Agrax, Nuln, and Reikland on it. But I sorta blew out the shading on the tabard. But shading it and then leaving that as the final step isn't the look I prefer. Helias_Tancred
I've decided to take a break from my Black Templars, and rotate back to my Dark Angels. I've played 7 games with my Black Templars in 11th edition. I became frustrated with them, again. My reasons are straightforward. #1 they are a linear two-dimensional army in their play style. It's about get all of your melee units down the board and into your opponent's face pronto! It got old. Even if they were strong or meta on the tabletop right now, that play style would still have gotten old to me. Then when you take some shooty units, it detracts from having more melee units, which is not good, and their detachments have nothing for any shooting units either (I'm not complaining, that makes sense, just saying as to why shooty units are not that good with them). #2 Their faction specific detachments are absolute garbage. When they changed Wrathful Procession for 11th, that had been what I was using for post-cdoex release 10th leading into 11th. I struggled to find another detachment I truly liked, I settled on 2DP Companions of Vehemance with 1DP Wrathful Procession. It was okay but not great. #3 Post-codex Sword Brethren just aren't that good for their points. They kinda suck considering what they should be. That got old too considering they are an integral ingredient to a Black Templars list. So there you go. Some of you may have different opinions or experience, that's okay I get it. But for me, I got tired of the things I mentioned, and decided to rotate to my other collection, Dark Angels. Through multiple editions Dark Angels have always been the faction whose play style has fit me the best. I like the variety the faction offers, meaning I can run a balanced list and have fun; shooty units, fast moving bikes, close combat units, ICC > SB at this moment, and Deathwing terminators and Deathwing knights! Hobby-wise I love my Dark Angels. Great to kit-bash. Great to paint. Tons of cool decals and heraldry things you can do with them. I feel the same about my Black Templars from a hobby perspective, but right now I just had to set them aside. I became frustrated and their play style got old. I'm sure I will play my Black Templars again. Just for now I'm burnt out and I'm going to focus on my Dark Angels.
