Kastor Krieg
Or, hear me out, GW is known for inconsistencies in design and has used a "Guard" imperialis on a Marine (Belial) storm bolter, "because cool". That immediately rules out yarrick and fits with the existing belial model. Counterpoint (but I agree with TheMawr that it very well may be bait and switch from GW and some random miniature, not the first time): Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/381808-the-advent-rumour-engine-2023/page/8/#findComment-6009619 Share on other sites

Space Marines and Guard have a different style of this iconography (at least in modern miniatures, there are some exceptions with old ones). SM - small skull and elongated wings. AM - big skull and more compact wings. Also I'm not sure that this is intentional on the new Rumour Engine or just a drilling oversight but modern SM storm bolters are depicted with much bigger barrels. Mike8404
Guard do not have arrows or arrow trim on any of their range. If you look below the barrel on the strap there's a metal arrow pointing down. Asmodi's new model is covered in these either as part of his physical model or painted on in the GW image. The 30k DA range has this too, it's been a part of the DA aesthetic in 30k and now the design team is bringing it to 40k too. This obviously makes this a DA storm bolter, it also fits rumors over new Deathwatch Termies and Belial Edited December 15, 2023 by Mike8404 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/381808-the-advent-rumour-engine-2023/page/8/#findComment-6009639 Share on other sites

MechaMan
I’ll shove a rogue one out there if it’s not the obvious contenders (death wing, Yarrick, scions kill team) - Astra Militarum Ministorum Priest with storm Bolter. Hence incense, servo skull scribe etc. Not had one since Taddeus the Purifier. Indy Techwisp
I hope it is Scions tbh. They're neat models. tinpact
It'd be great to see Scions actually get another model. My first thought was Inquisition-y, and that fits the bill. CL_Mission
Certainly looks like an Imperial banner of some kind. I'd put my money more on a Krieg banner than Scions, Scions already have a banner in their kit and it doesn't really match this one. Those aren't arrows...those are more like fluer-de-lis. The thing is we know DA are getting something because we already have seen portions of their refresh and images in the advent calendar has shown DA images. Not saying Guard aren't in there, but there's more credence that the Storm Bolter is DA than Guard since Belial is more likely than a new Scions kit that so far has only been a rumor and hasn't had anything shown. Mechanicus Tech-Support
I'd find it quite humorous if it does turn out to be Krieg and we get an article on how we can make steel legion by painting the kriegers in a certain colour considering krieg started out as an alt steel legion colour scheme. Would be nice if in the krieg box we get heads that could make steel legion, that way GW covers both bases skylerboodie, HolyPestilience and Marshal Rohr 1 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/381808-the-advent-rumour-engine-2023/page/8/#findComment-6009721 Share on other sites
