The main problem with Asmodai is the silly and unnecessary cloth flaps going over his shoulderpads.  Also the sword looks wrong going into the helmet, would have been better if you could see the whole sword and there was no stabbed helmet.  Would have been so good without these things.

Goddamn do those Companions look nice. Fills me with hope for what's coming for the Blood Angels later on if they're willing to go that hard on chapter-specific units outside of the named characters.

my only issue with the companions is for a "mysterious cadre of elite warriors" they have bare head options - doesnt seem to fit for me that you can see their faces.

Though they do look good so...

I may swap the heads around with others or magentise them (I am seriously considering double duty for these with 30k as deathwing companions with a bit of magentisation and artistic license on the paint job)

Fingers crossed for some very awesome Sanguinary guards.

So silly that the “backpack topper options” are just the “globe in halo” and the same “globe in halo, but with smoke”.

Would have looked much better with the abdominal plates showing, instead of the silly under-armor cloth.  I also still don’t understand the half-raised edge of upper pauldron armor instead of running it all the way across the upper arch of the pauldron.

They are nice looking models and would make a great base for some upscaled Company Veterans with some modifications.

"Look closely at the sprue, and you’ll notice the back of the banner is slightly different from the images that were shared over Christmas. The design was slightly updated before the final models went into production"

Anyone been able to identify what has changed?

That was the most interesting part of the post, IMHO! What caused the change? Was the original design too thin to assemble? Did one of the Eavy Metal painter simply grab the wrong STL during the painting phase? Seems like there was a lot of last-minute rejiggering in this release, when you include the mislabeling of which transfer sheet was in the DW Assault box.

If you can't be bothered watching the video:

Combat Patrol £95/€125/$160

Codex £20-22.50/€29/$35

Deathwing Knights £42.5/€55/$70

Inner Circle £35/€45/$60

Asmodai £26/€34/$42

Belial £26/€34/$42

DA upgrades £21/€27/$35

Dice £18/€23/$32

Datasheet cards £20/€27/$35

The price of those upgrades are ridiculous.  I'm glad I got the DW Assault box.  Pretty big discount based on those prices.

Old upgrade sprue with the new CP is a big wth.

Not quite sure why everyone's so salty on the prices.

  • Inner Circle Companions are the same price as Bladeguard Veterans
  • Upgrade Sprue is the same price as the Black Templar and Cadian equivalents
  • Deathwing Knights are only £2.50 more than the new plastic Terminator kit.

Yeah, it's all what I was expecting. That's also why I picked up two of the Deathwing Assault boxes, the discounts are always worth it.
