Just when I thought I'd completed my LE collection of these character novels they bring out another one!

This should be an interesting read though. I don't think we've had Lelith as a character in a BL publications before so fleshing out the character beyond 'space dark elf goes stab'. Plus I enjoy Mike's work so I'm optimistic about this one.

WoW they had me at Mike Brooks but I stayed for Lelith  I'm too intelligent to do Collectors books (which technically means I have no disposable income for extravagance:tongue:

So I'm Quite happy to see the Hardback will be out soon after as well. I will say though that's a damn fine LE book though

More Dark Eldar fiction is always good. Not sure how I feel about political intrigue in a Lelith book as I always felt that her whole schtick was being “above it all” and just killing for fun/sport. But I guess her trying to leave Commoragh for whatever reason and being forced back could work as a plot hook. Kind of a female BDSM elf John Wick thing.

I hope Lucius shows up, I feel like him and Lelith could make for good rivals. Lelith is probably more martially skilled overall, but she can’t kill him for obvious reasons. Guess I’m just wish-listing now but—do it BL!

Honestly a far from expected book popping up that (potentially/partly) delves further on two storylines that have been on ice for a long time, that some (probably just me) speculated would both be looked again when its time to hype up emperors children.. only a day after the (equally random in timing) EC index announcement. Its hard to stay the ever skeptical me haha.

This is not one of the plot lines I refer to, but had to immediately think about this short story :

This is exciting and unexpected so I welcomed it!

After the Ynnari debacle, something I find very interesting but it seems forgotten for years now (where is the third damn book)? anything drukhari/aeldari related is cool.

I will go for the normal release though. Can't seem to justify 65 € or more for LE anymore.

Mike Brooks is turning out to be one of the best and most prolific BL writers, thus I will definitely be giving this a read. Here's hoping that a sequel to Son of the Forest is not far behind.

On second thoughts, I might not be reading this. Turns out the author decided to put a very thinly-veiled caricature of a YouTuber he didn't like in as a slave trader character. (Said YouTuber found it quite amusing, I might add.) Quality writing, everyone.

This isn't political right? Just that he dislikes a YouTuber? So we can express an opinion wishing they would catch stuff like this in the editing process without the thread getting nuked, I hope.

(Edit - to be fair to the editors, they would have to even know who this YouTuber is in the first place, AND that this author has some kind of beef. Hard for them to catch something like this.)

Guess this is the result of the Twitter generation growing up, and some of them taking jobs as writers. Can't separate their online dislikes from their professional work. Unfortunate.

Warhammer has always been satire-friendly, but the writing quality can only suffer long term from an author indulging in its own personal rancours.

=][= We'll leave the writer's personal beefs there folks and move back to this book. You're more than welcome to dislike the book or the author for whatever reason, you do you! We don't need to bring their/your personal beef or politics here  =][=

=][= Moving on from Sargon being real or imaginary, based on history or reference to a media person, let's just confirm that there's a dispute whether this author references a real life person due to political grounds or not and we can move on.

Let's also not reference other off topic discussions here either and stick to the book in question. =][=

I do think it's hard not to mention Brooks is - like many other scifi writers - explicitly focused on his genre as a vehicle for political commentary. It's hard to take that away from his work

It's fine to say "I am not/I am into this book because of the author's political stand that seeps into the story", rather it's not on topic to discuss whether Sargon in real life is a racist or not.

The important thing is to remember the board rules. If someone states they will or won't get this book because of the politics surrounding it, we don't have to debate those politics. Accept it or roll eyes, then move on.
