Yaay the Jacoci case arrived AND my acrylic rod marines fit.

 

Only one small problem. Its completely unsafe for purpose as it doesnt have a latch.

 

Seriously :cuss:? Funny but my initial thought is fine Ill do your job for you and fix it with an after market modification.

 

I've been buying GW stuff too long. Haha.

Base tidy up then they are done. Will do another 3 after I finish Death Company.

 

DC are 75% done, will spli them up into 2 x 5 man squads to paint. Have never painted a 10 man squad and just dont want to at this point.

Nice work! Can’t wait to see the full squad, I’m also amused that we seem to be painting more or less the same things in same order atm - you’re just much faster at getting them finished than me! :blush:

Great minds think alike but you are a better painter. These guys were 70% done already (tournament bare ready) but technically took 1 year so maybe not that fast.

Exemplar of Sanguinius. And MOAR ARMOUR! Have always wanted to paint up a Landraider and have some really good ideas for this. Those Sanguinary guard pennants are going to finally come in handy.

Trying to speed paint these guys. Figured black is forgiving enough to try.

 

Lenses are no bueno as used tesseract green and it made Waywatcher too bright but these will be the first picked up and they are a pass.

 

They need loin cloths to break up the black. Dont really like painting AI as they have those weird leather belts on the legs and seem too cramped with bent knees.

 

We really got shafted in the last release. We get 1 original kit compared to DA and SW getting 3-4.

 

DC take a bit to bling up but you can get them there. The problem is you loose readability on the AI chasis when you do because they are already cramped up with giant holsters and webbing with bent knees.

 

The banner will be a blacked out version of the SG colour scheme and all 10 will get helmets to make the DC Captain stick out (wont do that very last, march 2026).

 

Doing them in 2 x 5 man batches and the next squad has all the fists and eviserstors so easier as no hazard stripes.

 

Believe it or not thats 2020 points painted. Wowee. Thouggt I'd never crack 2k.

Figured out the photos. We live in a weird world when AI on new phones makes a 2.6MB photo when in wide view.

 

Close ups work with less AI apparently.

 

Hopefully finish El Capitano tonight.

I've converted to a pen for pupils. This is an ultra close up but the 'Uniball Eye' pen.lived up to its name.

 

Very smooth to apply and this was a sqinting eye so very narrow.

Spoke too soon about the photos. Still working on it all but will probably get the army.finished in the next 2-3 weeks so will get some proffesional ones done.

 

Some photos from my opponent. 80 boys and Ghazgull. Second was necron warrior spam with off charts reannimations so both tested my killing power.

 

Mephiston was a beast. He obviously still remembers Armageddon. Still can't find points for him and the Sanguinor but trying. Can see the knock on Mephiston more clearly after more games.

 

Cut down N'kari and put some wounds on Ghaz then charged a mob of 20 boys and pain boy and survived the clap back.

 

Orks got out to a good lead and despite coming home hard, I fell short.

 

Next match was against necros and we called it turn 3 for time. Necron list that was dam tought. Was close to even scores when called.

 

Rolled like a 6 tonne block of marble, so bad both opponents commented but had a ball. Sanguinary guard failed 3x 6 inch charges and I failed a 4 and a 5 as well.

 

DC dread killed a tonne of boys and was really good. Then got nuked by the necrons in a gross terrain map that was basically 3 firing lanes and a bit of +1 cover.

 

Was particulary bad at wound rolls and saving throws too but thats the dice.

 

Astoraths 4+ fight on death is very good and underated but the guatenteed F.O.D strat is probably better.

 

He hits so hard in LAG and mass of doom is very good too (I like devastating wounds on chainswords for elite infantry killing power).

 

Geeze the map is short since Pariah nexus, and going second is great for charging.

 

Great FLGS and great people are well.

Got my dreads mixed up.

Pardon the crappy quality of photo. Just wanted to post these as super happy.

 

Aldos Appaches. Will do the head from the Sanguinary guard with the Brad pit hair cut from Inglorious bastards and paint a little moustache on him for the next batch.

 

The uniball pen is such a winner on pupils, I can get some serious emotion into these faces.

 

Will go over the rest of my painted eye balls as I have a few sheep (rectangle pupils).

 

Combat knives are fun to paint and these new blood angel faces are really good sculpts.

Just played Tau mont'ka and WE.

 

Tau player was outstanding, took redundancy (2 broadsides, 2 riptides, 2 hammerheads) and they screened and spaced millimeter perfect.

 

Divided up my DC into 2x5 squads withoit Chaplains, didn't take the DC dread and put SG and Erradicators on DS and Strategic reserve. DC only need 2 guys in to do work on Tau but failed an important 5 inch charge and reroll that left me dangling.

 

Scout blocked his movement, my new faveroite trick. Went 2nd so had CP for AC but needed it too much. Used LAG just for advance and charge and the +4 dev wounds FNP.

 

The reservese came on in crap positions turn 3 after I realised he was not going to make a movement mistake. Chewed me up slowly as I charged the gunline and he won big on points.

 

The closest I've come to being tabled with maybe 500 points left and only 2 objectives (lost OC on 1 by 1).

 

WE was a 8 bound list with Khârn, Landraider and a daemon prince. Went 2nd again and took LAG (will use RCO or AI next time: like AI against WE as they are coming to you and no need for advance and charge). 

 

I expected Angaron so did'nt adjust my deployment well enough (too deep).

 

Baal predator survived with an impressive tally of exulted and regular 8 bound.

 

DC dread did its job as distraction Carnifex and I got to do my first heroic intervention.

 

Guys used Slannesh dice which helped and I actually rolled alright. Sanguinary guard did great work, -1 to hit and wound is massive.

 

DC and Astorath did great work too. They picked up the resurected Khârn, a Daemon prince and a squad of 8 bound. 4/5 fight on deaths is clutch and used the in combat strat. Got me storm hostile, assainate and the middle board one.

 

Mephiston was too deep and had to throw him at a 8 bound squad on an objective.

 

Sanguinor did some great work too protecting DC from the slap back and drawing chaos spawn and more 9 bound into melee with him.

 

Terminators dropped in the rear and took their homoe objective.

 

Ended up with 4/5 objectives but lost by 8 points with my highest score ever.

 

Was easily my best Warhammer experience and had heaps of fun with a very cool guy.

 

Had a good laugh with a few classic and new warhammer jokes and think I actually made my Chapter and the Emperor proud with my play.

 

Getting much better at fight phase consolidation moves and where to charge to, and where to pile into.

 

Still cannot remember my Captains free strats but forgetting less everytime.
