Very curious. Not what I was expecting at all.

Do we have anything aboard worth trading? Have we managed to bring anything (raw mined materials and/or noctilith in particular?) from Brimstone before it got smithereened?

And the other side is, have they got anything we want? I very much doubt they're going to be interested in giving us a ship, and 6 vs 1 means we aren't taking one by force, so that is probably out?

All of that of course depending on if they are "loyal Imperial subjects" who will/won't try to kill us as soon as they realise we are a Corsair ship... (I assume they don't know who/what we are, as they addressed us as 'unidentified ship'?)

Edit: @Mazer Rackham do you want responses to the hail, or should we leave it now and tie off until restart?

Up to you - the proposal will set the scene for the next Part, and answer some of your queries, so either way is fine with me, although putting it to a vote I think is best.

Excellent.

@Lord_Ikka I think this is going to be your show, Mr. Charisma. Luckily, I think there's essentially none of us bearing any Chaos-related paraphernalia or ephemera (sigils and whatnot), barring perhaps a Tyrant's Claw here or there, so we might be able to pass ourselves off either as mercenaries or possibly the absolute scummiest rogue trader retinue in the history of rogue traders.

In any event, Ukalegon with his room temperature IQ and smoovest of smoove brains will be happy to stand around and look menacing until it's ungabunga bonking time. Though, considering his, erm, obvious mutation, it might be best if we kept him hidden. That is, of course, unless this White Tigress is Heresy-curious and Crux'As can somehow dupe or otherwise sway her to our cause?

Very much agree with getting Crux'as up to the bridge to do the talking.

I'd say not to stop entirely, but slow right down. Then reply and try to find out who this White Tigress is (who she is aligned with, etc) without giving too much away about ourselves, to make sure it isn't a trap.

As to trading, I've got no objection to it, if we have something they want. The first thing on my wishlist in return would be more stuff to repair the Dredge, plus maybe more crewmen if they have any going spare?

That's my vote, anyway...

Just a thought, but if we still decide to go after Bounty, they might be able to give a (less suspicious) ride to an early infiltration team?

Hmm...this...plus...

Bow, bow, bow, baby I been waiting so long...yeah...:whistling:

Well, we have a rather unique set of skills and abilities to offer, I’d say

Plus a lot of potential real estate ( once the former Imperial drudges have been encouraged to leave ) aaaand..  an almost new capital ship, just slightly used..:whistling:

Seneschal: *kicks tyres* Hmm. The significant dents, winos, bloodstains and 'minimalist' prow are factory features, I assume?

Well, it is called the Carnage Class for a reason, Sir.

"You have a keen eye for detail, my Lord. These are, ehm, after-market enhancements. The, ah, prow was modified for mass reduction and enhanced acceleration. Similarly, the dents are... Uhh... Ah, yes I recall now, the dents function like that of a carcharondontid's skin, and were added to reduce drag and improve performance. The bloodstains and winos are, ahem, merely an interior design preference of the previous owner. Now, can I interest you in a test-drive?"

Seneschal: Hmm, I don't know. Is that mileage legit? 304 million Light Years?

Also Seneschal: Wait a minute! This log book says it was first registered in SWINDON!? What are you trying to pull?

“I don’t know, Sir. It’s a great ship but..  you know what? Forget about it. I think it is more of a ship for the folks from House Vandenberg anyway… “ :whistling:

> Hit it, boys! <

Spoiler

"Why-why-why, my lord, everyone knows of the great iron-works there, of the great orbital shipyards of, uh, Swindon! Let not this ship's humble origins bely its, uh, noble heritage and pristine service record. Now, if you are still interested in that test-drive, I will require you to sign this pain waiver and provide me with a valid pilot's license or similar form of identification..."

*Adjusts rear-view mirror*

*Snaps off in hand*

'No, I think we'll leave it.'

Spoiler

Just as an aside, I was out with a mate to pick up a used car, and we looked around it, and he sat in it, and it creaked a bit, lots of rust, the rear-view fell off when he closed the door, and when he popped the bonnet, the prop literally broke off in his hand. He looked at it for a second, having previously dismissed all the other faults, put it back in the clips, closed the bonnet, and we walked off.

Last I wrote Atesh was stuck in quarantine; I ain't trying to drag anyone down but I'm also cool with him rotting there till part 2.  Whatever works in general.

However, OOC I feel that a warband would be well-served by having a semi-legitimate ally in the rogue trader if we can ascertain that they're.....flexible.  As a pirate, socio-economically Huron probably has some overlapping ties with the IMperium (rogue traders and mercs specifically) imo.  Pirates usually do have someone to legitimize them so they can have more market access, right?

It also strikes me that there is an applicable maxim here; something about beggars and choosing.

Alright, so we'll let Ikka bump Crux'As' gums, then I'll plot a response and set up Part II.

Keep the IC decks clear for now please, lads. Cheers.

Seriously......this has been a crackin' good time, as the children vocalize.

Good to hear. We'll do some more debrief when we're tied off and hopefully get an idea of what worked for folks.

Ah yes, kids today: Vibe, vibe, aura farming, skibidi nonsense, vibe side-eye toilet.

Oof- took the first of the week off because of a minor bout of food poisoning, but am back. Looks like we need some lying scumbag to lure in foolish Imperials? I do know a fella...

It occurs to me that now is perhaps as good of a time as any for us to name our warband seeing as how we have a rather fully fleshed out roster. Some ideas come to mind:

- Hagga's Heroes

- The Crimson Permanent Assurance

- Mongrel Battalion

- Damage, Inc.

- Cowboys from Heck

- The Syndicate

- Cabal of the Bleeding Eye

- The Heartbreakers/Heart-Takers

- The Dread Company or Dreadwatch

- The Claws of Vengeance

- The Machine
