Ah, this is an Infamy Test, so yes, roll 1D100 and compare it to your Infamy Stat. If you pass, I will roll on the Tzeentchian Gifts table - if you fail, you get a Gift from the ordinary table (but if there's a Tzeentchian variant, you get that).

This is a very specific test to see what hideous mutation you get, nothing else.

@Mazer Rackham  It's just a straight d100 right?  I know there's an infamy thing but I don't really have much of that so I'm holding onto it for now regardless.

You just need to roll Under your Infamy score. If you succeed on the roll then Mazer rolls you a Gift of Tzeentch.

If you fail the roll then Mazer rolls on the Gifts of Gods where you can gain some Arm Tentacles

Armpit tentacles all round!

Be fun at parties!

Be an expert waiter!

Have the most pervasive BO ever!

Get yours today!

Well it's good news.

I rolled 003 which is Animal Hybrid. You can modify the roll by your Infamy Bonus, down to 001, but that's Addiction.

Fortunately, the Tzeentchian Animal Hybrid is, indeed, a Birdy Beak.

And chicken legs.

But yes, beak.

Sorry for the lateness but for me it's been great so far. PBP is hard  because I find you don't get as much of the banter between characters, especially on a forum (and especially when your notifications don't work :furious:). I've tried to offset it myself by interacting with those around me, but then as earlier comments have said, we aren't really meant to be chummy - so it's a trade off between trying to interact and trying to be a cold-hearted chaos MFer.

GM-style is great, really love your prose @Mazer, I'd read your BL novel if you wrote one

Varne is going to take Rapid Reaction, he hates being ambushed by Genestealer Cultists!

Much appreciated!

You guys are no slouches yourselves.

Although I have tried several times for BL, they keep saying no. I put it down to two things:

  1. Most of my submissions consist of such great works as: 'Splot has am ball, see SPlot? play! Rnu, Splot, run! Play with your hairy ball!'
  2. I once wrote in for the job of Studio Director as Lugft Huron.

So I can't say I blame them.

Sounds wise...

Your notifications not popping is very strange. Maybe drop a Bug Report? I'm sure an Admin would have no problem taking a swatch.

Notifications???

Every time I I'm on my phone I open up B&C then Clubs and The Nook, straight to Overview

Indeed - that is one of the reasons I rarely, if ever, scroll any other forums on the board. There's just no need.

Glad I have time to properly craft a decent mutation scene before the next session!

Might I suggest a new form of attire for undercover work:

Probably gonna have to start there instead of the mods for the laspistol.

Xerxes can probably craft some of the smaller laspistol stuff from components and disadvantages, depending on your needs and how long it takes to set up on the new ship. At a price of course.

Wouldn't have it any other way.  Gotta do some thinkin'.

That brings us nicely back to the Compact details.

Each of you is encouraged to look at the draft concepts I have placed in the Data thread. We need 6 - 8 Secondaries to support and complete the primary, and each of them need to revolve around your characters.

We need to get ahead of this before the game opens up so that you can get an idea of where you're going once things get rolling. Further, you don't have to sign up to the Compact, but if you don't, obviously there's no Infamy. However, should the compact fail, there's no CP's either. If there is stuff you can't get, it's the Anointed's job to get it, one way or another. Gentlemen, let me be very clear. Once you start this Compact, it will take weeks, maybe months to pull off, so if you think it's a fast way to grab Infamy, you're dead wrong.

(Undertakings are faster and will rack up your Infamy faster, and XP faster, but it'll also get you killed by the Inquisition faster, so there's that).

Further, XP will have to be carefully handled so that you're not OP for the Campaign by the time it rolls over to another Op. Sessions on PBP are difficult at the best of times, so I will have to consider itemised XP based on your achievements. I will answer as many questions as I can, but I will not answer any questions that require intelligence/information that you could not possibly have. There will be enough info to go from for general details, such as how big the Bounty Orbital Lading Platform is, but I won't be able to tell you how many people work there. Information you have might be out of date, or straight-up missing, recon or infil may be called for, etc.

Form your own Secondaries, consider your Tertiaries and approach me with them when other things are firmed up. Disagree with each other over what your dirty little heretic wants. Discuss, chat, plan. Go into it as deep as you want.

Do it now.

Hagga will be very much joining the Compact, and will obviously focus on the Secondaries that have a more military aspect e.g. attacking the platform, ambushes against Arbites/PDF patrols, destroying the Bastion, conquering the city - those 4 are the ones I would say are more suited to an Astartes, so are the ones I would personally include in the Compact?

However, that leaves plenty of room for more sneaky Secondaries for the non-fighty PCs?

Feel free to adjust or invent further steps, folks. After all, the amount of work you put in needs to scale directly with the forces you have to bear.

Abaddon could smash into the Cadian Gate because he had a wheelbarrow of sledgehammers.

At the moment you've got a toothpick, a human hand-grenade looking for a pin, and a misbehaving Spaniel.

Adjust accordingly.

Seconding @Lysimachus Ukalegon would be well suited to general death and destruction, up to and including ambushes, helping to liberate and lead any convict populations, destroying critical arbites personnel, equipment and infrastructure that cannot otherwise be stolen, executing (publicly) planetary officials and generally causing a nuisance.

I do have some fun tertiary objective ideas for Ukalegon, which I will DM you @Mazer Rackham for guidance/approval.

Xerxes will, as ever, be looking to obtain tools, materials, and technical information during the initial ops as one of the heretics that can more likely infiltrate, or at least remain relatively unnoticed planetside.

So, with my thinking cap still on, I think it is probably best if we make one of the Secondaries an Intel gathering objective. Put together an infiltration team that can be smuggled onto Bounty, and who can, as AT says, go unnoticed amongst certain quarters of the Imperial Machine. This can be done while the Group are off doing something else - so for example, The Tigress' mission.

The 'Gain Intel Secondary' could take a while. It depends on what you're casing up, but this is fine. There are two types of mission to be had in this campaign:

  • Compacts
  • Resources

One gets you stuff, the other gets you Infamy. I mention this as the Tigress' mission will be the former.

Both carry XP, depending on role and function. The Wasp can deliver the team, since it can be disguised as a civvie conveyance/hauler. The Krokodils are obviously military boarding craft.

I think once we have a better idea of what is there on Bounty, you can firm up your other Secondaries.

Alternatively, you could request the Intel gathering on Bounty is done as an Undertaking. This will involve fewer heretics than the whole team, which is both for and against the spirit of BC and the Compact system as a whole. It will accrue Infamy only for the party doing the Undertaking, but of course, them's the breaks.
