Quick question before figuring out a 'welcome' - from Badgers' character post, this isn't Acchiersum's* first interaction with the Red Corsairs, right? He joined previously, bringing a ship, etc, so he's already a part of Huron's forces? Does that mean he's now wearing the red and black, or is he still in the EC purple/gold?

*did I spell that right? What's the proper pronunciation of that?

Yeah, he's acquainted with the Red Corsairs. Though he's wearing his original (very weathered) purple armour as he has little love for the RC.

And yep, you spelled that right. I pronounce it as Akk-e-er-soom, though I have no idea what the actual Old English pronunciation of that would be.

Will get a post in the IC thread soon, but have a bit of work to clear first I'm afraid. Soon!

Think Badgers has the closest pronunciation, but been looking this name up, and it appears in places associated with King Cnut and all sorts, a Greek idiom, all kinds of things.

Naughty Badgers, being all olde-worlde and mythological on us!

Although being a noise marine, maybe he's pronounced 'Achy-ear-some'?

Knowing it was going to be some weird old world stuff, I worked at a phonetic pronunciation when I first read it.  Came up with "ACK-kear-soom."  There's no easy way to cut that down to a decent nickname either.

@BadgersinHills is it going to get loud now? Does our silence offend Slaanesh? And will you be picking up a sonic blaster and/or doom siren as part of your starting kit?

Oh, here we go....

:rolleyes::biggrin:

Think he's in purple, not pink. Otherwise it's going to make you all wink.

I included 'Mourn' as another of his names trying to give everyone (and myself) a bit of a less of a mouthful every time I typed it out, though I'm sure he'd hate to be called Achy

I think we can handle that.

Armour that was a dark purple, at any rate, before whatever misfortunes befell the wearer had occurred. Bits of purple, pink and scraps of flaking gold leaf

Quote

The Lustful Hue: You are wary of the colour Pink in any form or variation. Encountering the colour provokes mild discomfort, enough that even the doughty heart of an Astartes feels the lingering tremble of something unnatural. Interactions with anyone wearing pink, or within an environment involving pink lighting (don't go to 80's bars) suffers a -10 penalty. Further, loitering for more than two minutes within 3m of anyone wearing pink, painted pink, or glowing pink etc, induces a headache.

Just quoting what Mazer wrote, I don't think a tiny bit of faded purple pink is going to immediately start a fight, right?

Or if Obadiah still has that spray can of Mephiston Red in his pocket, can he walk over and do a bit of freestyle graffiti and solve the issue?

I was envisioning something like this, except with gold trim and a purple helmet and that (at the moment) mostly obscured by weathering and paint chipping. Mini by Duncan Rhodes.

Terribly sorry, gentlemen...

CRUNCH, CRUNCH

But I'm having trouble hearing you over the sound of this....

CRUNCH, CRUNCH

Delicious popcorn!

CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CRUNCH.

We're noticeably heavy on Khornate-leaning heretics, so a little friction with the rest of the group was probably inevitable.

Question for the Marine players, just a bit of spitballing at this point:

Once (if) we get the current pink situation resolved, does anyone think a collective respray might be in order to avoid the problem in the future? It's starting to get quite kaleidoscopic around here…

Hagga already did it to avoid his next actions bringing any reproach back to the Executioners Chapter, but I think he'd also be aware of the potential 'unifying effect' of matching our colours, and also to raising our level of pride in our little squad?

Hagga and Rakash(?) are obviously already in RC colours, and Iscario technically is too? That leaves Ukalegon, Obadiah, Varne, and Mourn.

They wouldn't all need to be exactly the same, just using the same RC palette of colours; red, black, white, gold?

As an example idea, Obadiah could be in mostly stealth black, but keep his Mantis badge which would still fit perfectly with that overall colour palette?

Likewise, Ukalegon could keep his black/white chequers and red heart? (maybe the fact that he painted over them is why his armour keeps peeling...?)

Mourn could make his armour more of a deep purple-y shade of red, but combo'd with black and plenty of gold could still look pretty fancy?

Just ideas... etc, etc, etc.

Anyway, I don't know if the idea is worth considering or not, just something to think about?

Maybe some/all are determined to stick with their ‘proper’ colours (which is totally fair too!) and in which case the idea is already a non-starter and can be thrown out immediately!

*clutches pearls* How dare you, sir!

I was going to go that route eventually but I'm trying to drag it out.  Thus the whole bit with my helmet.
