The Neverborn
Wow that was a slog! 2nd set of Storm Boyz done and I'm past the 75% mark of total models painted (I have a spreadsheet) There's just so much detail on these guys - and it's so compact and they're not a high impact unit but I'm now 10 for 10! Next the next 5 Flash Gitz Sume, Brother Casman and Rusted Boltgun 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/383515-da-projeck/page/2/#findComment-6137472 Share on other sites
The Neverborn
Happy New year Flash gitz six through 10 are now done These ones a built myself (mostly). The Pistol guy already had his Pistol glued to his body. Which I was a bit upset as that's my least favourite arm. I was able to make the cigar smoking git very cool. I do have another unopen box of Flash Gits - not sure if I'm going to use them yet. I'll see how the next edition/year take me. If not I'll just keep them. I got them for lest than RRP, even after 3rd party discount - so I can sell them easily. Or Keep them as boxed GW stuff does apricate in Value when the models go OOP for a few years. Next Mega Nobz! The Neverborn
Meganobz done! These were very hard to look good - sheet metal on this scale isn't really my forté. I experimented with few techniques eventually base layer, followed by a ink followed by 2-3 dry brush layering and edge highlighting seemed to work. I've also fallen out of love with Artis Opus brushes. The last 2 of 3 I got were verry "stubby" and died after 2 models each. I think I might have just lucked out on the first one which did over a dozen. Galron
They look good. I have the same problem with exposed metal on orks. If I were you, maybe put an Argax Earthshade line shade specifically in the recesses to make them a bit more stark and dont be neat about it. One of the various rust washes will be helpful as well in a lot of select places. I cant imagine clean Ork armor or well anything else so some sponge chipping in black and some scratches with the rust spots might help you a bit. Sume
I have noticed while getting the orks for my own project together have so much character and more things than I expected.
