Casual Heresy
Afternoon all. I've been quite happy and intrigued by the possibilities of the Agents Codex. It's by no means perfect but I do feel there is potential for fun and it opens up a whole new toolbox for Imperial armies. I've been looking at putting together an all agents list as I can fill out alot of it using things I already own. My own reading confirms the internets consensus that the Imperialis Fleet detachment has the most competitive potential. But it's the Ordo Hereticus Detachment that calls to me, and it's Sister and Arbites units I'd like to purchase. This is my first go at an all rounder force. Purgation Force Detachment Strike Force 2000pts Epic Heroes Inquisitor Greyfax - Warlord Eversor Assassin Vindicare Assassin Characters Inquisitor - Psychic Gifts - Psychic Shockwave - Force Weapon - No Escape Ministorum Priest - Power weapon and Holy Pistol - Liber Heresius Battleline Units Vigilant Squad - Executioner Shotgun - Arbites Grenade Launcher - Nuncio-Aquila Vigilant Squad - Executioner Shotgun - Arbites Grenade Launcher - Nuncio-Aquila Other Units Inquisitorial Agents - 10 Inquisitorial Agents, 2 Gun Servitors - 2x Tome Skulls - 2x Plasma Pistols - 2x Eviscerators - 2x Mystic Staves - Gun Servitors: 2x Multi-Meltas Subductor Squad - Nuncio-Aquila Grey Knights Terminator Squad - 1x Psycannon - 1x Ancient’s Banner - 1x Narthecium Grey Knights Terminator Squad - 1x Psycannon - 1x Ancient’s Banner - 1x Narthecium Sisters of Battle Squad - Simulacrum Imperialis - Meltagun - Multi-Melta - Sister Superior: Power Weapon and Combi-Weapon Sisters of Battle Squad - Simulacrum Imperialis - Meltagun - Multi-Melta - Sister Superior: Power Weapon and Combi-Weapon Dedicated Transports Imperial Rhino - Hunter-Killer Missile Inquisitorial Chimera - Chimera Heavy Bolter - Heavy Bolter - Storm Bolter - Hunter-Killer Missile Sisters of Battle Immolator - Twin Multi-Melta - Hunter-Killer Missile Sisters of Battle Immolator - Twin Multi-Melta - Hunter-Killer Missile Imperial Knights: Freeblades Armiger Warglaive - Meltagun Armiger Warglaive - Meltagun Armiger's are in this list for some anti-vehicle/monster backbone. Greyfax joins the Inquisitorial Agents in the Chimera, the Priest goes with the Subductors in the Rhino and the Inquisitor is joining a Grey Knight Squad and both will deepstrike. Both Sister Squads will split to have the Superior and gunners in the Immolators and the others will run around the backfield doing actions and such. I went for the two most expensive Assassins so that I can freely swap around depending on the match up. Key I think to playing this is to try and control the flow of battle and make sure engagements are on my army's terms. Easier said than done but with redeployment shenanigans from the Liber Heresius, Deepstriking Grey Knights and tricks to eliminate key enemies when needed I think I might have a chance in casual to semi-competitive settings and look good doing it. librisrouge
To be fair, aren't all Agents lists casual lists? I'll see myself out. On a more serious note, the list looks fine. It looks like it has an answer to most problems, as much as Agents can. NKirkham24
Looses fun and fits the theme well. Nyxykins
I definitely think the Ordo Hereticus detachment is one of the two most likely to see any measurable success, I definitely think this is an interesting list, and mirrors some of my own recent thoughts for list construction. Definitely interested in hearing how it works for you!! Casual Heresy
So it's been a while. I didn't make a start on this list at the time as I had other priorities projects wise and limited budgets leading up to Christmas. And after not being able to find an Ordo Hereticus battleforce I shelved the idea. But then I went to Warhammer World. I was down for a tournament there a few weeks ago and lo and behold, they had Ordo Hereticus boxes on the shelves. So I grabbed one and hauled it back to Edinburgh. With my mate enthusiastically starting Emperor's Children, I thought getting this Agents army up and running would be a nice project. It won't win me tournaments but it will lead to some fun and thematic games with my friends, and gets me the Agents models I'd want to field in other armies painted up (it's also a sneaky way to start on a Sisters list for 11th edition). List wise I've made a couple of tweaks, dropping one of the Grey Knights squads in favour of a third Warglaive and a third Immolator. I'm going to turn this topic into a project log and hopefully actually stick to my plan. Since this is mainly going to be about painting, I want to pull something together that is lore accurate, but also looks unified. So all models will have certain parts painted in the same way so everything ties together. Currently the unifying colours will be black, red and gold. Factions wise, all the Sororitas will be Bloody Rose, while the Armigers will be House Mortan (black armour with red and yellow heraldry and gold trim). For the Arbites, I'm sticking to traditional black armour, but considering dark red undersuits to add a bit more colour. The Grey Knights will be pretty traditional, but I am considering kitbashing a count-as unit drawn from the Red Hunters, since they'll tie into the same colours as the rest of the army, and from a lore standpoint, I think they make more sense than Grey Knights in an Ordo Hereticus force. The current plan is to paint up the contents of the Ordo Hereticus box first, then move onto the models I have in the pile of potential, then pick up the Imperial Agents Combat Patrol, then finish with all the other models I'll need. and going to try and fully paint each phase before buying anything else (wish me luck!). librisrouge 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/383774-the-long-arm-of-imperial-law-an-ordo-hereticus-project-log/#findComment-6098620 Share on other sites
