For being the Elite of Tempestus, the Aquilions are enh

I think this is a misunderstanding of the Aquilons. From what I've gathered, they are not the elite of the Tempestus, but instead the dedicated drop units of the Tempestus. Scions might be able to launch grav-chite assaults, but these guys have mastered it with their specialized equipment and training. But Scions also fight in mechanized and Valkyrie styles, making them more versatile.

The Aquilons are at least pointed fine for what they are.  I think the big issue with them is that if you are running a Scion army this is the first new kit in a decade and it's a bit underwhelming.  Where as in a general Guard army a cheaper more accurate Scion option is actually a pretty viable choice.

The vibe given off by the GW marketing was these were the elite of the elite.  So specialised they could use their Grav-chutes in battle (also backed up by the trailer).  In reality like any Scion they use the grave chutes just once but just a bit better.  If they aren't using them as Jump packs why do they continue to lug them around the battlefield?

Lighter armed but more zippy troops would have been a viable alternative for Scion players but as they are it is just more of the same.  Also odd the demo man didn't get a copy paste of the Kasrkin Melta Mine rule.

Still the models are fantastic so after all that I will be getting some as soon as they are released individually.
