So it is the last weekend of the month and I have done nothing B&C related as I have been building Old World stuff. I should be working on my Call to Arms pledge but am not in a position to do so in the next few days.  So instead for this month I am going to vow a colour scheme test for the Thousand Sons I build some years ago.

 

I am going to start with the Tzzangor, and if I finish him might try the Rubric. I specifically chose a Tzzangor with a shield so that I can try out what I think I want to do for the Rubric armour.

I've got some non-board minis to finish out the month of July (Trench Crusade that I'm finally getting around to), so I'll go ahead and vow for August so I don't forget. Going to try to get all my SM Call to Arms models done in a month.

I had a weird, busy month with not a lot of hobby fuel in the tank. My interest was all over the place too, so what little painting I did was spread out and most of what I picked up didn't get across the finish line (i.e. the Tau pathfinders I pledged). Despite all that I did manage to get a test marine finished for my first army in HH3. Hopefully that will count for my pledge fulfillment:

Less than ideal lighting conditions aside I did finish the test Tzaangor. As a models by itself I like it, though perhaps I should pick a different cloth colour as it is a bit hard to see at a glance. Whether I will do all the Tzaangors like this I am not sure yet, perhaps a few more tweaks and changes before I commit to painting all the rest, but as starting point it worked. 

 

 

 

The armour test, leadbelcher with heavy silver drybrush and contrast blue (and more silver to fix any overspill) seems to work ok and not be too time consuming, so will try it on the Rubric Marine as my August Vow.

For the month of August, I, Khulu, vow to paint one set of HH tokens/objective markers:

Ok, Calling that quits on getting things done for July (if I'm still in Overtime) got the Medusas finished and the Blackstone heroes (base gloop will be added this afternoon but then I don't want to move them until it's dry, so taking pictures now). 

 

Because the Solar Aux arty lingered on the paint table, the Sicarans didn't get finished so will be added into the August pile.

It is not really Speed Daemon (not at all), as it took me 3 days, but I have managed completing the 2 warwalkers in that short amount of time.

 

 

Interestingly, left walker looks brighter on the pic. A matter of light probably, as it is not the case.

I followed the instructions for these model, changing only the heads of the genuine set for Guardians heads. For the bare one it does not really matter but I do not necesarry like the breath mask of the helmeted head of the walker's kit.

 

So, half of my pledge for august is done. Time now to start working on these Spiders of mine.
