1st weeks progress, gotten the chaos lord done and I'm wrapping up the sorcerer, just a little cleanup. The rest of the vow has gotten their silver dry brush coat for the Metallics and I've started basecoating the purple on the despoilers.

edited vow

I, Dwango, embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of November pledge to complete 1 boxnought, 1 Levi repaint, and some other heresy units depending on what the great wheel dictates (we have started a small heresy painting event at my flags) by month's end.

I've forgotten to post the dreads so they are, kinda done. Before and after pics incoming.

I just finished my vow for November!

One Broodlord (yes, that is a Space Wolf trying to pull it's tail)  as well as 5 more Genestealers.

What is next?

I will make a start on my second entry for the Jokaero Challenge as well as 6 Genestealer hybrids. Not sure I will be able to finish these this month, though, we will see.

Well I know it’s months late but I finished a few Tau.

Finally, I Lamebeard, return to the call of the 12 months of hobby for November, and vow to finish my Dark Angels Secret Santa (no pic because secret) and this kroot kit bash.

Finally built all the models I have bits for, and started on a test model,

1- Leadbelcher Spray over Black Prime

2- Grey Knights Steel heavy drybrush with Aethermatic Blue Contrast over top, then a lighter drybrush of Grey Knights Steel.

large.PSX_20251117_140314.jpg.0eebefc2c8

3- Base colours for Red, White, and Gold

large.PSX_20251117_140332.jpg.9c65d4e43e

4- Layers and washes on Red, White, and Gold. Highlight on Silver,

So, why the different swords? Well, I painted the traditional powersword blues and while they were fine, I wasn't feeling it, so I went with the green lightning effect I used on the Custodes Blade Champion commission I did a while back, and like it much more. From a time perspective, they're actually quite comparable, but my question is, does the green blades look too out of place on Grey Knights?

The blade with the lightning looks amazing.

It does not look green.

It's based in Caliban Green, with first pass of lightning in white, then thinned Teradon Turquoise, with follow-up white dots as highlights for the lightning.

I think I may retry the lightning with blues and see if I like it more?

Have you considered re-toning using Incubi Darkness instead of Caliban Green?

So I went ahead and redid the blue sword, in the lightning effect style, and I like it more,

THEN I realised that Nemisis Force Weapons, ARE FORCE weapons, which I typically paint in purples...so I had to try it,

So, what day you? Green, Blue or Purple?

Green is the best IMO, it fits this GK scheme

Well, purple-ish is my favorite color...

However, for these Grey Knights, I actually think boring old blue looks best.
