It was fine before. But I fixed it for you.

Ah okay. I wasnt happy with the picture I took.  I was trying to get a better one.  Thank you for fixing the new one, as no matter what I tried I couldnt get it to rotate right.  Probably missed the option in there somewhere.

I decided to work on a batch of noise marines.  I admit they looked awful tell I got to the base coat for the white. The parts painted looked great expect it was one of those cases you have to wait.  I debated what color to make the tabards on these guys.  I felt any sort of white would clash with the white armor.  I thought about more purple, magenta, or pink but decided on black.  As I think black with the green tassel things was a more neutral and less flamboyant alternative and I didnt want the cloth to be a distraction or focal point.

I need to finish the blue white, highlight the skin on the armor and of course the actual white armor. I really liked the white noise marine that was in the book. I decided to make all the white with a purple shadow instead orlf turquoise.  I shaded almost everything with a purple to. The metal and even the gold. I am looking forward to seeing them finished and the basing material.

I figured I give the neon pink a few hours to dry before trying to add the mordant earth.

As you can see my take on the glittering myriad reminds me of white scars gone wild.  It was definitely time consuming so, will probably rearrange the list to be more low model count. That way I can make sure my friends orks are painted and then I can decide to change time permitting.  Potato camera does them no justice.

Following up on @RolandTHTG's point, just because you are playing the Emperor's Children faction, doesn't mean your faction has to trace its origin back to the Emperor's Children legion.  There is no reason why your own warband couldn't be former white scars who fell to Slaanesh and then joined an existing EC warband or independently adopted the EC way of warfare.

My own EC are like that, being EC "though the back door".  Basically, mine were originally a variety of loyalist chapters fighting in a warzone, who collectively fell to Slaanesh and in the process freed an actual EC demon prince who had been mystically bound during the Scouring era.  Those who began to most closely follow his advice and leadership will be my EC models and use that codex - those who did to a lesser extent are my Heretic Astartes models under that codex.  So, 1 warband, 2 codexes (well, more if you count the knights and demons that are also part of or associated with the warband).

So, something similar (in details and/or theme) would certainly work for your own force if you want to keep the "White Scars gone wild" angle.

@Dr_Ruminahui, @RolandTHTG I was hoping to have made a light hearted joke. As now a days I find humor in short supply.

I honestly haven't given much thought to the origins of these guys. With a idea that they've captured a cache of older Horus Heresy era equipment and been supplementing as they go. To explain away my kit bashing on mk 6 armor for my battle line units. My rhinos and land raider are actually HH plastic kits as I feel they look the part and lore better.

I am basing my scheme of the Glittering Myriad that was a single model in the codex. The two noise marine champions and four blastmasters happened to be my test models. I normally find the test batch of models to take the longest. I am happy with how it turned out.  As I tried a few new things like using gws newer "version of whites" and the pro acrylic blue white for where I would have used pure white.

I am definitely going to be rearranging the initial plan and go for a lower model count in case I don't have time. I i decided to paint these first for a few reasons. Slaanesh is my favorite chaos power. Also, for me painting a cool white is longer than a dirty warm undead white.  I still got an entire ork army to get through. Orginally it was going to be 2 ork armies and I am trying not to second guess myself but wonder if I would have been better off with the blood axes. As everything for my force was built and converted by my friend besides my kommandos that I was building at work. I could have used the EC building time for painting.  At least once I get these done.  I can work on the rest at my own pace.  That includes grey knights, more sisters of battle, agents of the imperium stuff, necrons, the blood axes, tyranids and thousands sons. My friend made sure we had a army for each faction to change things up if something gets the sisters of battle triple nerf hammer.

I don't think humour is necessarily in short supply these days, as very difficult to transmit via the written medium.  So, I did understand that you probably meant the White Scars Gone Wild as a jest, its still a cool enough concept that I think its worth running with.

BTW, it would be nice to get some photos from the front - you units look really nice, but a frontal photo (rather than the 3/4 top view you've shown) would be appreciated to let us see the details of the models.

Good luck snagging some more Diaz-nettes without breaking the bank.  If you do want to try something else. a 50/50 mix of plastic daemonettes and dark elf witches looks pretty nice, though that doesn't fix the rather derpy looking plastic seekers.

Thank you.  I am terrible at taking pictures and will remember to do this in the future.  Will retake pictures of stuff already done.  I do have some witch elves in a box somewhere that a different friend gave to me back in 2015.  All he wanted was the wytches with the hair.  To make death cult assassins with.  Not sure if I can get the heads off to replace with demonette ones and the arms with demonette claws though.

Yes, sadly I think GW was very under whelming with the EC range.  MTO Juan Diaz sculpts would have been great, and along with you know defilers, terrorfiends, hellbrutes and predators.  Surprised no bikers, and what not too.  Maybe they'll flesh it out better next edition or down the line.

Well bummer.  To find out the order for the 2 KLs didnt go through, and the 2nd Maulerfiend is lost to the US postal service.  At least, requested a refund for the maulerfiend.  There all out of stock currently too.  Also, a bummer.  All in the name of needing to change things up anyways.  I guess the current list will look a little jank but thats partly due to missing out on things I wanted to try. Well, it is going to be used for narrative play after all.  Probably not be the worst thing ever but I wanted less models and guess here it is.  Waiting on a 100mm circle base as I might feel cute and switch the party taxi and seekers for the Forgeworld keeper not sure yet.

1 sorcerer (I know right?)

2 noise marines with 2 party buses

1 terminator squad with party taxi

1 maulerfiend

1 helldrake

2 demonettes

1 seeker

Well not sure what keeper to use if I switch them out.  I have the one from AoS still in the box.  I want to get a 2nd box so I can make both models.  If I went with the AoS version which I love the peacock feather look .  Problem is I dont know which of the two to go with.  I like the one that is sort of 2nd AoS keeper, with the more butterfly like wings.  I didnt have a good picture of the other two keepers.  At least you can be greeted by my massive wave of purple.  Keep in mind that's like only 1/3rd of my actual painted demonettes.  As you can see, I am rebasing or repainting things for EC.

Well time to dig into the Heldrake.  Out of all the vehicles.  I am going to find this the one the most difficult.  Not for any particular reason, expect for they have a bad experience associated with them.  I had finished one a few months prior for a friend nearly 10 years ago that ended up committing suicide.  The same friend I got the witch elves from.  At least the use of the airbrush let me get the base coat down fast on it and all the other vehicles.  I need to get a picture of the "new" terminators.  What was that 2019 or something when they got redesigned?  The scale creep is real.

The Talon and the Voice of Slaanesh are such gorgeous models that you should definitely paint them up! Your other Keepers already look so nice that you could count them as a winged Daemon Prince proxy?

Thank you.  Yes, the Talon and Voice of Slaanesh are amazing.  Why I want to get a second box to get one of both.  I do have 3 demon princes with wings all ready.  Well, the older kit.  You can see the head of one in the picture with Zarnakayal.

Okay.  Dont mind the gold mistakes as I was trying to figure things out.  Especially on the belly there.  I realized that was part of the hull and didnt recover yet.  Anyways, anyone have an idea how to use this silly little ball joint on the flyer?  I am suspecting I am going to need to cut off the ball and do some miliputti gymnastics or something to shove it up into that X slot.  As feebay they want way too much for a flyer stand.  This is so, silly considering this Heldrake was NIB back in March.

That thing looks way too fragile for the Heldrake - I would a bit of terrain instead, whether a bit of left over GW terrain, a wedding cake pillar, a bit of brass pipe, or the like.

I totally agree. I went to set up the basing bits to let them dry before priming later. Then I actually took a look at the flying stand and groaned.  Took the pictures before I got here to work.  Nearly forgot I have two second hand nightscythes. Going to check to see if they have the cross stand. If not I am not sure what to do. As that ball is too large and would need something cut.

I do have some Tamiya ruined walls that are meant to be used for the two ork armies. If all else fails. I guess I can try and get the back legs mounted to some of the walls and have that cross section left.

The nightscythe, at least as it comes in the box, has the right stand for you... so, hopefully yours do as well.

Worse comes to worse, you can put it on top of your FW Keeper and have her/him throwing it like  paper airplane. :teehee:

Horrible job to make the X fit a ball-joint! If you’re not going for ruins or similar in the end I would dremel out the X centre until the circumference fits the ball. Then plastic cement before using miliput or similar to finish the deal.

this would make a much stronger hold, and if wanted you could even give it more support by pinning the ball to the bottom armour plates after glue but before fill?

Didn’t see the daemon prince sticking his head up in the picture, but of course you have three already! I guess we’re all drowning in daemon prince models after all.  Make two more!

I so want the new ones. They are so more dynamic than these ones I remember from like what 3rd or 4th? The one in question is in the very bottom right corner of the photo.  I didn't upload that year's full display board for an event.  Just the one that was focused on the keeper.  Still makes me sad to think I went in with a big fw order when that was still a thing to get that keeper.  Then that friend decided that he wanted out of life.

Well, I lucked out.  Both of the croissants have the correct flyer base.  Now the problem is if I use both of the croissants.  I'll have to find the proper flight stand or use some terrain or something for it.  That or just steal it from something else.  I wonder if there are places that have these stands that are not using feebay scalper prices.  Well, I somehow missed the clear x piece on that clear sprue.  That looks so dicey that I am most likely going to just use the necron one.  I guess it's meant to give it a more dynamic approach look but ya, I am not a fan of the "new" flight stands period.

Also, found some more pictures from 2018.  You should be able to see two of the 3-winged demon princes now. Actually, looking at the full army photo there.  It looks like the 2nd one didnt make that year's list.   Sad chariot noises though.  I recall that guy doing about absolutely nothing for me.  Probably why I dont want to use it for this army.
