It happens to all of us at times. Perhaps Black Cohort will have better luck in dealing with those two Ur-ghul.

It might take some ducking or leaning or creativeness but one way or another you can draw line of sight if needed. 

If this is for a ranged attack the Ur-Ghul might benefit from some cover (I'll work that out if needed once I am home tonight). 

 

or you can move closer (say onto the wreck) and then you can seem the Ur-ghul without any issues 

or charge and then you can see the Ur-ghul up close and personal.

I see that I misunderstood which Ur-ghul you were trying to see. I though you meant the currently pinned one that is at the hull between Kelman and Ialathial, hence why charging seems like a valid options.

 

That said from climbing onto Featherfligth you would indeed see all the rest as well so all good there.

I’ll go and work out how many and how badly scorched there are.

As they are Dark Red Ur-Ghuls you will indeed get to act before them. 

 

That said I doubt they will do much to Ialathial as having not charged they don't get beserk charge, and with a -20 from Defensive Stance they are hitting less then a 1/4 of the time, even with ounumbering that dosent quite get them to 1/3 chance hitting, and you have a dodge as well.

At the rate you are scorching them and given that 9 of them there wont be many left. We will see where things stand after Akylas and Blakc Chort have had their current rounds go and the Orange Ur-Ghuls have failed to unpinn...

and even if you did not hit anythign shotting in the direction of the pinned ones probably counts as sufficent to be 'under fire' and therfore denny them the +30 to the unpinn test. 

 

 

So it is Black Cohort next, follwed by the orange lot and then Mazer

@Trokair Can you please check my logic here?

I want to Full Auto Burst the SE-most Dark Red Ur-Ghul with my Shuriken Pistol:

  • As a pistol, I am permitted this attack action when engaged in melee (p195).
  • I do get Short Range bonus, but not Point Blank (p199).
  • I do not suffer penalty to hit as the target is not engaged in melee with another opponent, only myself (p196).

Dark Heresy core rules page 127 - pistols in melee gain no bonuses for range or targetting equipment.

 

Rogue trader and later gave actions a subtype with semi-auto and full-auto being 'ranged' but even that was never clear on any actual restrictions of firing a pistol full auto - I don't recall seeing it prohibited specifically.

A.T. is right that the pistol would not get a bonus due to range or equipment while in melee, but I don’t see anything that stops the +20 from FAB applying.

 

The rest of your logic is sound as far as I know, so FAB away with your shuriken pistol.

You are in melee with both the Ur-ghul to North and the one South Easterly* you had been engaged by a third that was directly easterly but Saoirse phantom killed it. 

 

You can shoot your Shuriken pistol (single shot, Semi Auto Burst of Full Auto burst) simmilar to how Mike Zule just did. You cant shoot the reaper launcher. 

You can also flee or disengage, or make a melee attack with your knife, or take on a defensive stance to make you harder to be hit. may options.

 

 

 

* There is a limit to where I can move the dots when I update the map, hence why it is not touching your dot, I can only make the cardinal directions touch, for the others there will always be a little gap.
