Ialandranth Veilseeker

 

The reapers fire gave them the best chance, but the creatures would soon be upon them in number. Sweeping his blade at the closest Ialandranth weaved backwards to intercept those yet to engage, though the Ur Ghul quickly sought to intercept him.

 

 

Attack closest - 38 to hit = hit, damage 1+6, Pen 2

 Half action disengage = 76 = fail, no move. (unless the ur-ghul is dead in which case Ialandranth moves to block charges against Orach

The weave of fate was thin enough here to take advantage. As she thought it, she was doing it, her inner awareness opened further, the veil thinning as time slowed but for a moment.

 

The faces of her various assailants, locked in hideous rictus visage, the defiant poses of the cousins about her, each dealing with the threat as rotely taught, but innately mastered by the Aeldari spirit, and exploited into lethal focus by an unparalelled comprehension. The awe and admiration of lesser races could be distracting to those who simply...were.

 

She would heed her own counsel. The flame concentrated from a burning billow into a lance of melta focus to cleave her foemen as realities asserted the truths of the universe - the paths laid out could yet be thwarted...

 

There was no time to think, only to do.

 

She pulsed the enemy movements to her kin - for what the warning was worth.

Ur-Ghul in melee with Saoirse Dodge

The Ur-ghul howled as its left arm was shorn clean of moments before it’s claws could dig into the prey. Of balance it felt the prickle of a powerfield swipe at it on the right, a moments grace granted by the absent left limb, but not enough as the Ur-ghul found the ground cut out from underneath it.

Hesitation from the attack, these creatures could not have downed the ship and must surely have some master - hounds sent out ahead but wavering without guidance.

 

The threat was far from over however as some sought to enter the ship itself and attack those within, as Ialandranth moved once more to intercept.

 

Half move action to get within 3m of any targets at the entrance to the ship (not sure which end that is :p)

The two were sniffing around the entrance of the cargo ramp, sensing movement and prey inside. The pop of displaced air was not warning enough to save them from the monomolecular filament speeding like a cloud through them before it drifted apart into harmless strands.

Kelman whirls around at the sound of the Ur Ghuls behind him. He focuses first on the slightly further one and fires.

With the threat ably whittled by her companions, she focussed her power and extended her senses, the affront of their pressing enemy requiring support for the Duskstrider. Fleet of foot, she was forced to slink into the hold of the vessel to get a clear view, but it was good enough. A resplendant psychegraph* of the Defender Inviolate, Asurmen, standing braced and dealing death, slipped from her own conscious to the Dire Avenger - coloured with reassurance.

 

On sighting the harried Ur-Ghuls through the jagged rents in the feather-flight, she summoned her wyrdling force, coaxing gloaming ensorcellry* into her Wraithbone vambraces, filling the mirror-soul of the Witchblade grasped in her tight fist. Levelling the weapon, Saoirse whispered the runes of wrath in her soul, and the power erupted with a flare of amber flame, launched from hilt to point. The pyschic barrage crossed the distance in a blink of unreal time, detonating in a very physical thunderclap amidst the fiend flesh-eaters. The veil rippled reality with a shimmer of liquid glass until it smoothed.

Two fearless Ur-Ghuls persisted through the bladestorm and lunged at Ialathial. The glistening of their needle-like teeth betrayed their satisfaction, now that they have their prey.

 

Duskstrider would need to time his strikes carefully. A foolish strike would be costly, and he had no intention to become lunch for these creatures…

 

Ready: Ialathial will Quick-Draw his Boneknife and Shuriken Pistol, slinging his ASC (allowed 2 Ready actions per turn).

Defensive Stance: Ialathial will adopt a defensive posture; enemies are -20 WS to hit.

Ialandranth Veilseeker

 

Steady fire from the others had broken up the charge as the Ur-Ghul came in disjointed and unable to take advantage of their numbers. Still a few were slipping through and the group were ill equipped to fight at such close distances with only knives and small arms. But they would have to suffice.

 

Two of the creatures had pinned down Ialathial but left themselves exposed in return as Ialandrath slipped through the fringes of realspace to appear atop the shuttle poised to strike.

 

Charge the closest Ur-ghul engaged with Ialandrath from atop a suitable part of the shuttle.
