Ialandranth Veilseeker

 

The distraction of the Dracon almost proved deadly as the dark kin seemed to double in speed in response to the wave of hate, the sharp sting of the blow as the armour turned the worst aside did at least shake any indecision and doubt from the mind and turn Ialandranths focus back to the fight.

 

He struck again seeking to use the blood thirst of his enemy against him before slipping away one more through the warp, to be exposed against so many was to die.

 

Fear test: 12 - pass

Dodge test: 87 - fail, 3 wounds taken

Half action attack roll: 25 - pass

Damage: 7+10+3 = 20 damage, Pen 6 (power weapon)

 

Half action move to warp away into the cover of trees, 10m but can push further if needed - attack of opportunity if the kalabite lives

Sidestepping a thrust to the torso the Kabalite stabed the splinter rifle at the spider once more, sure of drawing blood again, but where the Spider had been was just empty air.

 

 

There are no Trees within 10m of you, but there is a larger bush directly eastwards that is about 12m to 15m (edge vs thickest part).

If you are trying for the Tree north, south south east, or west then they are respectively about 25m, 30, and 35m away. So you can make it to the north or south south east Trees with a very good wrap jump generato push roll.

Kelman Orach

 

Kelman repeats a mantra to Khaine he learned at his Aspect Shrine to endure the Dracon's shriek.

Over the din of the skirmish and those Dark Eldar actively gunning for you it is hard to pay attention to more distant threats, but even with distractions to hand you cannot fail to notice a increase in calls and sounds of movements, the camp was swarming. Shrikes of pain or fear or despair from the Human slaves further clutter the soundscape.

 

Despite all this the hum and vine of an antigrav engine is unmistakable, one of the crafts has taken off.

As the Avenger set up position in the brush, his rangefinder flagged dozens of approaching kabalites. They were keeping their distance, too far for a suppressive volley.  No doubt they were also preparing to fire upon their position.

 

Duskstrider spotted two dark kin in the foliage lining up targets with their rifles, seemingly without fear of reprisal. That will need to change…

Full-Auto Burst: Ialathial will fire at the closest Aiming Red Kabalite, SW at ~40m.

So focussed on her target had the Kabalite been that she stared straight at the deadly shuriken as they crossed the open ground from her quarry to her. Only the felling of leaves and vegetation as the shuriken ate their way through the undergrowth snapped her out of it, far too late to save herself, or take her murderer with her into the beyond to face She Who Thirsts as well.

While the lesser Kabalites run around in an uncoordinated response to the invaders four of the Trueborn prepared a forward position for the Dracon while the other four stuck close to their charge.

Seeing that the Fire Dragon might be eager to take out that venom, Kelman eyes the enemies to the west. Taking out that lookout in the tree would be easy, but the bodyguards at the bast are more dangerous. His war mask pushing him to fire at the greater foe, he aims for the bodyguards.

 

Would like to crouch in bushes if that is a free action.

I am going to assign three hits to each, as Akylas mentioned aiming at both, and they are close enough for the FAB Hits to do so. So first three hits:

Bodyguard (northmost of the two) Dodge

Ag: 57 +10(Dodge +10) = 67

D100: 81, Fail – Even with partial Tree cover the Pen 7 and a total of 32 damage across the three hits is enough to kill.

Last three hits

The Aspect of the Destroyer once more spoke true to its namesake, obliterating one Trueborn. Khaine however would have to be satisfied with only one as the other Dark Eldar darted out of the way of his missile delivered wrath.

Interlude

 

The faintest of whistles, easily lost on a wind still day in an open field, all but drowned here and now. Did you even hear it, or just imagined it?  

Within moments however there was no doubt, the whilst loud and sharp, now drowning out the battle din.

The crescendo a show of rolling thunder, fire and smoke bursting from the ground like fresh shoots after the rain, growing into spires.

 

As the shower of debris and earth settle and the smog dissipates the battle field, already warn from many skirmished that had visited the lakeside in recent times, was now crater pocked. Another level of devastation closer to hell.

Her arm stopped bleeding, then forfeited being.

 

Once that was stemmed, she faced the pain, and let it take her down into the darkness, where all the ghost of who she'd been and what she'd done awaited.

Total Damage 22 – Saoirse now at [26/14]

Hit 4 (on arm) takes you over wound total so looking at Table 7-24 Rending Critical – Arm

Currently 10+ so loos Arm (and any ranged weapon held my go off, but I don’t think you were holding one)

You do have 2 Fate points total, used one for a reroll, so can use one for a d10 heal after say hit 3 if you want. Might reduce the crit to something survivable.

 

 

Edit: forgot the Toxic, would need to pass all 4/get very low damage rolls in addition to a good heal to survive; I guess Fate point burn it is.

Red Kabalite in melee with Phantom

 

The call of warning might have been too late to but the ambushing enemies back was now turned. Taking the presented opportunity the Kabalite stabbed the bayonet blade of the Splinter Rifle right into the torso. It gave way surprisingly easily, and the kabalite stumbeled forward. The enemy had turned translucent and was fading even as it twisted its head towards him. A look of anguish and pain on its face that gave the Kabalite a pause, a hesitation that on top of being unbalanced proved lethal, the evaporating phantom driving all its life into the blade for one last swing, severing the arm to mirror what its caster had just lost.

As the Raider made the turn the gunner spied the Reaper, word had made its way over the Kabalite coms channel that such a dangerous foe was in the field. ‘Not for long’ he thought as the Dark Light speared forward.

The rain of fire indicated that the humans approached, but it seemed that the bloodlust of the dark kin was so great as to remain and fight here rather than scatter or respond to the bombardment. But the same bloodlust drew them close and left them vulnerable where a more rational mind would stand off out of reach.

 

But they must attack with equal abandon lest numbers overwhelm them, scattered the dark kin fought for themselves but should their masters gain control they would surely encircle the group and close off any chance of escape.

 

Ialandranth lept forward seeking both the greatest threat - the dark lance - and to rejoin with his allies.

 

Half move and push warp pack to get as close as possible to the raider

Move: 10+8+5, not sure if on or near

 

Semi-auto into driver:

Roll: 87, Fate point reroll 15 vs skill 43 + 10 or 30 for range? No bonus for semi-auto as using hit and run

2 or 3 hits depending on range

Near (about 7 m away), so shooting pilot would be a called shot, which would be harder to hit. So instead will assume you shoot the Raider which gives you the +20 for Enormous, and neting you the third hit.  

Driver Dodge

AG:52 -20 (Enormous ) +25 (Manoeuvrability)=57

D100: 51, Dog first hit

Second hit: 24 Damage at Pen 0 – into side armour 15 results in 9 SI damage. Now at [9/20SI]

Third hit: 17 Damage at Pen 0  – side armour 15 makes 2 SI damage. Now at [11/20]

 

Banking the Raider away from the temporary Spider prevented some damage, but the left side was still pretty heavily chewed up by the monatomic filament before it snapped and broke.
