For a moment it seemed like the Sentry would blunder right into you, but a sudden whistle of splinter fire towards the shore made the Kabalite turn away from you and head at pace towards the sound. More humans had been caught and slain in retribution for the escape attempt.

 

Your way was clear now and within a few minutes you were ready to strike.

Red Kabalites have weapons ready and may be moving around, some are Sentries, some are hunting escaped slaves and so on.

Orange Kabalites are engaged with other task/do not have weapons at the ready, but will switch to Red if alerted.

 

As we are in a surprise round player action can be as structure light. Questions and such in OOC thread.

Duskstrider raised his catapult to the oblivious dark kin through the clearing.

The high pitched whistle of the shurikens cutting through the air draws the Kabalites attention. Even as the Eldar turns to see what it was that they had heard the monomolecular blades rip open the Kabalites leg, forcing them to their knees in perfect time for the remaining projectiles to embed themselves in the victim’s torso and arm. With a soft wheeze of a punctured lung a cry of pain and alarm is stifled, the corpse slumping sideways into the shrubby undergrowth.

Ialandranth Veilseeker

 

As blades began to fly Ialandranth moved west, flickering between the materium and immaterium as he remained hidden amongst the trees watching for any sign of awareness from the guards as he closed to striking range. The senses of the dark kin were sharp and so best to strike from afar.

 

Move and semi-auto to the west. BS 43 +10 semi auto

Kabalite (west)

Dodge, Ag: 52, d100: 11, Pass, 4DoS – Sufficient DoS to doges all hits from Death Spinner, sufficient AG to move out of Blast range.

 

A double mini thunderclap from the trees to the right left the Kabalite with a split second sight of the expanding all consuming molecular cloud heading right for them. enough time for the reflexes of the Eldar to drive the Kabalite out of harm’s way as the bush next to them was shredded.

Having just caught a slave that had been hiding in the undergorath the Kabalite felt a presence behind him. Making to turn, contemplating how humiliating it would be to be taken by surprise by one of the cattle slave. A thought he never got to fully finish as the upper torso, separated by two clean stokes, hit the ground and rolled into the bush, coming to rest next to the recently deceased human.

As the reaper moves to take advantage of the bushes to his west he weighs the loudness of his weapon versus danger of the kabalite that direction being alerted and decides to shoot.

As @Black Cohort and @Aknoby have had even leas spare time to take part then I have had, I am moving the game forward, and assume that both their characters, as former Ranger and Ranger, have assisted the team in repositioning slightly and to remain hidden.

 

As such you still have Surprise (aside from the Dracon and his bodyguard) this round. That said the Kabalites know something more than just runaway slaves is up and 2 orange Kabalites have switched to red.  You will see from the map that there has been some general movement.

 

While the Dracon and his Bodygaurd are active they had no direct line of sight to the team. In response to the Deathspinner/Reaper launcher noise they have moved into cover of the nearby ruin and their actions this round will be awareness/threat assessment related, so it will be harder to keep the Surprise going at the end of turn test.

 

Players, as Dracon and Co action are set this turn feel free to continue in structure time light.

Ialandranth Veilseeker

 

Strike and move, be in many places and one warrior might be an army. The dark kin outnumbered them many times over but did not know, and could not know if this attack were to succeed.

 

Switching directions Ialandranth sought out another of the isolated targets moving closer indirectly.

 

"The vehicles must be culled before they can take to the skies"

 

Warp/charge the target due south(ish), fighting from concealment of the brush if possible

WS test: 44 vs WS 40+10 charge = hit (no extra DoS)

Saoirse:

 

The Warp Spider was right. Now was the time to devastate the enemy.

 

A battle is won before it is fought if the enemy cannot retaliate. There was scant hope of avoiding it, but confusion and deliberate action were a powerful lever of victory.

Out of the corner of his eye he saw a flicker in the air, a momentary rent in the air, to its right the bush swayed, a figure half emerged. A sorcerer. Sudden goosebumps on the back of his neck, a sign of sorcery, though he had only heard tales of it he had no wish to experience it firsthand. Scooting to the north to break line of sight the Kabalite narrowly escaped the psychic doom.

He had only just climbed up onto the Raiders central platform to check on the supplies when the Raiders outer hull fragmented, a wave of shrapnel and crackling energy embraced the hapless Eldar.

His colleague just outside was thrown backwards but managed to twist to shield his head from the blast.

Satisfied with the kill, Duskstrider shifted his aim rightward to another sentry further away.
 

He held his fire for a second, waiting the Warlock’s apparition in the foreground to dissipate. He doubted it could be harmed by a shuriken volley, but it seemed distasteful to attack another’s incorporeal projection.

 

”Appreciated,” he thanked aloud, and pulled the trigger.

Kabalite (again).

So focused had the Eldar been on escaping the Sorcerer’s attention that he was taken by complete surprise by the hail of fragmenting tree that engulfed him moments later. Mixed in within the wooden shrapnel where a few remaining reaper missiles that had not been absorbed by the former tree, just enough to end the Kabalite.

 

 

 

I am going to continue to autopilot Venkarryn and Sial as I presume our players are still unable to participate.

With the immediate area almost cleared of hostiles the Fire Dragon advanced, his Fusion gun was for hunting might monsters and vehicles, but the Dark Eldar skimmers where just too far away for him to disable them yet. As he moved he took an opportunistic shoot at a Kabalite that had turned to face the, alas the distance proved a little too much.

The ranger had already been readying to take down a Dark Kin on the southern extend of the encampment when he saw the Fire Dragon’s unfortunate shoot, with a breath he had refocused, with another he pulled the Long Rifles trigger. The Kabalites head snapped back from the impact, then collapsed, brain viscera leaking through the neat hole in the helmet.

All players will need to take Fear Test (Willpower) either right now, or at the start of their action this tunr, whichever is more practical for you.

The Dracon’s scream is Fear (2) / Frightening (–10 to WP test), Saoirse, Ialandranth, as an active psyker/psyker on a previous path for you two the scream is instead Fear (3) / Horrifying (–20 to WP Test). Failure requires a roll on the Shock Table (p233 in core book) with each DoF on the fear test adding 10 to the shock test roll.

While the Dark Kin might have been slow to respond to your presence, preoccupied with their own affairs and escaped humans, their response now that a foe was in their midst was rapid. Seeing a an enemy figure run several unleashed their splinter rifles. The darts while mostly missing the mark rake Ialathial surrounding.

 

The Repaer and the Warlock likewise experience the cloud of splinter ammunition whistling past by the smallest of fractions.
