Smoke Frog
+++ Some Things Are Best Let Forgotten +++ I have been super inspired by the works of folks out on the internet recently when it comes to the War of the False Primarch, and want to show off a few small projects I have been working on and finally feel comfortable enough sharing here. Starting with the Flesh Eaters! “They vilify us for our methods, yet nobody questions the results. We are the chosen Scions of Sanguinius, tempered weapons of the Emperor Himself. Our enemies quail with fear even before we draw first blood. They will soon know it is a fear well-founded! Let them fear the Angels of Death. Let them fear what is left of their short future. Let them pray for death. Brothers, we will answer those prayers.” [//Scaraban, Voivode of the Flesh Eaters Second Company+] Wormwoods and MoriyaSchism 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386292-war-of-the-false-primarch-smoke-frogs-projects/ Share on other sites
Smoke Frog
You find joy in the hunt, Jade Talon. We revel in the carnage. My small Flesh Eater warband have been designated as members of the 11th Company by the blue blood-drop on their pauldrons- ...and as members of the 26th squad on their right kneepads: It was also fun to include some Jaws of Doom on the beakie marines Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386292-war-of-the-false-primarch-smoke-frogs-projects/#findComment-6123049 Share on other sites
Smoke Frog
+++ Some Things Are Best Let Forgotten +++ Next up... the Iron Guard. "Whilst the chapter's gunmetal armour suits its dour heritage, it is often surprising to outsiders that battle-brothers also adorn their armour with colourful heraldry and markings. This tradition harks back to the chapter's now-destroyed homeworld and the ritualistic adoption of neophytes into one of the historic clans." [tactical armor identification notes concerning the Partisan Chapters of the War of the False Primarch] These three were a mini project, my attempt to make the faux-Iron Warriors scheme more palatable to me. I enjoyed the tidbit of lore where the Iron Guard most loyal to the Primarch repainted the chestplate/helmet of their armor a deep red/rust-orange, and did that for a few of these guys. Also wanted to include plenty hints of heraldry dotted on their pauldron-shield and kneepad. Iron Guard conduct an early morning assault on a desert outpost- Perimeter secured, the Iron Guard ensure security is locked down under the desert sun. The other main piece to the Iron Guard project were their mortal auxiliaries! 'What came of the actions on Gurro VII was a great moral victory for the humane and noble, but with it almost every reason to call the Imperium 'home' has disappeared. Now, brothers, we are but an iron ring made of wood.' Smoke Frog
Last Stand of the 212th Genswick Rifes Regiment +++++++++++ Order of Battle The 212th Genswick Rifles were a light infantry regiment believed to be over 200,000 strong prior to arrival in the Heliopolis sector. Low on Chimeras, armored assets, or other vehicles in general, the regiment by tradition preferred heavy use of horses bred on their home system; this included the majority of ranking officers and support staff spread throughout the regiment. Beyond the scout and shock cavalry companies, logistics companies, and single artillery battalion (only a small portion of the regiment as a whole) the vast majority of regimental manpower included high numbers of (expendable) trencher-infantry and engineers equipped to create fortified trench-lines across a wide stretch of warfront. Examples of 212th Genswick Rifles in field equipment, including guardsman-portable barrier-shields. Battalion/Company designation unspecified. Flamer weapons were widely distributed across the line companies, along with some rarer armaments such as the plasma pistol, here wielded by the platoon sergeant. +++++++++ The Imperium is a vast place, and communication is never a sure thing. Transmissions are not fool-proof and often intercepted, garbled, jammed, or disrupted. And that is even before the potential for mistakes to be made or a simple misunderstanding to occur. The 212th Genswick Rifles were never supposed to fight on the side of the Partisans. Dispatched early in the war to Ceto, backwater planet just outside the Myrean League, in transit the planetary governor (and rest of the League) declared for the False Primach. Completely oblivious to this fact, the Rifles reported to the aforementioned governor as previously ordered and took up their place in the defensive trenchworks, fortifying themselves for several months before reassignment to the Neris system. Later requisitioned by the Iron Guard (who in an ironic twist of fate had also fallen in line with the Partisan cause by this point), the Genswick Rifles were present during the ultimate destruction of the chapter’s 7th Company on the mud-flats of northern Saphrax VII at the hands of the Flesh Eaters. ++++++++++ Partisan pic-captures of the stalwart Iron Guard bolstering the line against the ravenous forces of the Flesh Eaters. No members of the remnant Iron Guard 7th company were known to survive the attack, nor the entirety of the 212th regiment. ++++++++++ +…and another thing! We haven’t gotten a decent [multiple expletives deleted from record] meal in weeks! Its been over a month since the cooks ran out of horse bones to add into the gruel. Emperor dammit what I would give for a decent cup of corpse-starch stew right now, it hasn’t tasted right since Clef lost his nose to gangrene, [deleted] betting they expect us to rot here in this spot, I would trade my coat for a chance to finally move from this emperor [deleted= see “uncomfortable to sit down on”] dung-heap [record deleted pertaining to regimental officers] I swear if sarge tells us we are staying here for another week in this rotten trench I am going to [record deleted pertaining to regimental officers and their mothers]... ...oh hi sarge, what's the news? [deleted] dammit we can’t move trenches now, we just got this one all cozy and perfect, we don’t want to go anywhere, honest [record deleted] never seen a space marine before [deleted] no way they would eat us, bet we would taste like [+record ends] [remainder of transcript lost pertaining to the vox-records of the 212th Genswick Rifles, last reported on Imperial records as having been sent to bolster the line against the oncoming Partisan advance]+ Edited Tuesday at 02:37 AM by Smoke Frog spelling MoriyaSchism 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/386292-war-of-the-false-primarch-smoke-frogs-projects/#findComment-6123563 Share on other sites
MoriyaSchism
These are full of character. The Mark 5 helmet works so well for Flesh Eaters and the Iron Guard heraldry really brings the armour's colours together. I love the inclusion of the Silver Star on one of the Marines, I was going to make one of my kill team guys a returning Marines Mendicant member with something like that in his personal heraldry. That guardsmen conversion is classic.
