IC Thread is greenlit for introductory posts if you have them. No rush, as this is a soft start.

Just want to bang the drum again to remind everyone to get a Character post in the Data thread. Why is this important? It gives other Players a fixed point of reference for details about appearance, markings, gear, armour etc without having to trail through 45 posts looking for a mention of eye-colour. It helps me the same way, but more importantly, it helps our readers to keep track of the Players' origins and Character arc (if there is one).

With the IC 'open', all Characters are now considered locked in for play.

Fair warning: Requisition will remain open until 17 October 2025.

Having ruminated upon this matter, and since we have no assault marines (thus no Stabmen to blend) and whose purchases might otherwise be penalised, and no-one has selected any Elite Advances which would cover it, and seeing no reason not to do so, and because it simplifies matters - and finally because this an Abnettesian run-on and on and on sentence:

All Players receive the following Talent:

Our Hands Bring Death (GM Award, 0 XP):

Prerequisites: Ambidextrous, WS 40, BaSk 40, Appropriate Weapon Training Subcategories.

Having trained extensively with both blade and gun, the Character gains both the Two-Weapon Wielder (Melee), and Two-Weapon Wielder (Ballistic) Talents. Additionally, the Character suffers no penalty for using a weapon in their off-hand. This means the Character may take the Multiple Attacks Action as described in the DW: Core Rulebook.

Caveat Emptor: You've got no Stabmen, and I intend to drown you in Orks; this is meant to help you survive when it gets hairy. Be judicious. If you want to Requisition 2 x Storm Bolters and just bullet-hose, I'll let you, because ammo doesn't grow on trees and you'll soon realise it was 'Just As Planned' when you're lugging around two glorified hot-pocket toasters and no-one has any pop-tarts.

This gratuity does not count towards your XP for Rank Increase purposes (For non-assaulters it would cost min 1,500xp).

Thank you for OHBD.

And I guess I am goign to retract my previous offer to make my spare Req avilable to anybody who needs it and use 10 of the remaing 12 for the Power Lance so as to be more of a melee front line for the team.

Mazer, from a narative point is it ok if I pick up the Power Lance in my intro post (from a fallen White Scar along the way) as that to mee would make more sense than the Inqistion happenign to have a WS style power lance on hand.

Makes perfect sense to me. Good thinking. Same goes for anyone else who selected Chapter specific gear. It would be far more likely you're bringing it with you, than picking it up - 'oh look, a very specific Chapter relic that just happens to be lying around...'

It will be an interesting game without any assualt marines, perhaps they all died heroicly figthing Orks already.

Well....

Spoiler

Foreshadowing.

@Mazer Rackham whenever any of us gets within viewing distance of the ERV, what does it look like, or rather what is providing the beacon signal? Are there any permanent structures? Should we expect a rhino APC with a striped merchant's canopy and desk set up out of the rear hatch?

"STEP RIGHT UP, STEP RIGHT UP! GET YOUR LIGHTLY OWNED EQUIPMENT RIGHT HERE AT HONEST BOB'S DISCOUNT MILITARY HARDWARE EMPORIUM! ALL ORDO XENOS STAMPED GOODS COME WITH A GUARANTEE OF AUTHENTICITY OR YOUR MONEY BACK*! STEP RIGHT UP!"

* - offer is void if said goods are no longer in original packaging; packaging must be removed to display stamp of authenticity

I've got posts pending with other Players who will go into it in more detail, but these Players are busy. Once the game opens formally, I will begin official play with the reveal of the ERV.

As a teaser, there is a Rhino.

Ice Cream is 20 Req a scoop.

Yep, it's solid - if you want to pop another post in reacting to the broadcasts coming through the relay towers, feel free. At the moment you're Mad Max, hoofing it through the desert.

Can we pay with Teef?

I believe so, or a lesser route (A Road) running parallel to the 25.

A very, very parallel road is fine - just in case I didn't lay it on thick enough for folks, at this stage in the game, the MSR is the only road into Acheron, and it's a deathtrap.

Just being near it is asking for trouble.

Still need to add to that as Kur-Dawa is yet to cross into the AOZ, recive the signal or find the Power Lance, hopefully in the next fewdays.
