Standard Onboard Systems and Equipment (May salvage four):

Remote-operated, pintle-mounted Storm Bolter (E)

Searchlight for illumination (E)

Smoke Launchers for defensive concealment (E)

Geo-locator Beacon for precise location and battlefield navigation

Command Vox Relay for secure command communications

Advanced Command, Control, and Surveillance Equipment (May salvage three):

Multi-band Vox signal boosters for long-range squad-to-squad, ground-to-air, and ground-to-orbit link coordination

Multi-spectral ground surveillance Auspex for detecting enemy units

Powerful orbital-interface secure Vox-transceiver enabling communication with orbiting spacecraft

Teleport Homer Beacon to guide safe and precise teleportation of troops

Transmission monitoring system and decryption engine, capable of jamming or decoding enemy communications

Bio-status readout system integrating telemetry directly from the Power Armour of all deployed Space Marines

Augury arrays and Vox arrays capable of calling down orbital precision strikes

We need to free up two slots to effectively carry all marines, correct? What is most important/what can we get rid of?

Might as well keep all of the E systems, as they don't cut into anything, so they're basically free. That's 3 out of 4 Standard systems there. So that leaves 0-1 Standard and 0-3 Advanced, picking two if we want to get everyone onboard. I would automatically take off the Teleport Homer, Bio-status readout, Transmission monitoring system, and orbital-interface; we don't know if we have teleporting reinforcements possible, the bio-status brings little benefit to deployed members (mainly a command thing I think), disrupting Ork communications doesn't seem super important, and who knows if there is anything to communicate with in orbit.

So for Standard we have Geo-locator and Command Vox. Command Vox might be important if we require info/orders from the base (maybe??). Geo-locator also may be useful to figure out where we are going if we have a specific target.

For Advanced, Vox Booster, Surveillance Asupex, and Orbital Strike Array. Vox booster could definitely help if the biker outriders get too far away, while the surveillance asupex makes sneaky ork kommandos less so. Orbital strike seems like a last-ditch defense/big bad thing removal device, which is nice.

My picks would be all E systems, then 2 of the following- Command Vox (if we are getting specific, minute-by-minute instructions), Vox Booster (if we are going to be "outside" frequently), Surveillance Auspex, Orbital Strike Array.

Sounds like a good analysis to me.

I'd say that the Command Vox might be more useful than the Geo-locator... presumably we can still figure out where we are with Nav:Surface tests, but if we don't have any comms we won't know where to go?

Of the others, I'd be tempted by the Orbital Strike system? We don't really have anything that can take out a big target? What happens if we run into a Battlewagon? (or worse, some variety of Stompa!)

Edit: I'm assuming that we don't need to make any extra space for the Inquisitor's medbay stuff? It's already included, right?

Yep, that's all taken care of.

Right gentlemen, what are we up to regarding the Damocles' kit and the offer of Enkush's bike?

If you wanted to jerry-rig a sidecar for the bike or some kind of sand-buggy for two/three Marines there should be sufficient scrap for this. One of the Techmarines will have to do it, but as it is so rudimentary, the build job (as long as it's literally the go-kart from Half-Life 2) there will be no tests, it will just require time - Marines (Crew) x D10 - Int Bonus. I will roll this, just pick a volunteer and post the IB below).

The other Techmarine can get on with gutting the Rhino. An extended Test will be required for this, and I'll be able to give you more guidance once you've decided on what bits are going/staying.

My vote was: 3 External systems, Command Vox, and Orbital Strike Array.

That should give us 6 transport spots for those on foot, and the 2 Bikers.

So I'm not sure if we need to add more transport capacity to the bike? (Unless I'm missing something?) I'd say it might be better for both Techs to concentrate on getting the Rhino running so we can all get going asap?

The Rhino has no Fuel.

Bikes are quicker than walking to get Fuel.

Bikes only carry one SM.

Ah, ok...

Alternative suggestion, then...

Mazer said that the Bikes have a range of 500km on a full tank (which they started the game with, I assume?)

He also said they have only used approx 100m of that range so far, and so still have 499.9km range available.

Wouldn't it make the most sense to take a little bit of fuel from the Bikes to put into the Rhino and get it moving, and then all go looking for a source to refill all the fuel tanks?

Rather than splitting us up, or leaving half where the Orks are probably coming to?

Perfectly viable. I was having a look at comparative vehicles to the Rhino (armour thickness, footprint, role etc) and have come up with a fuel tank range of 600km.

Sharing is caring.

Suspicious much?
