How much is being donated, and from whom?

Once sorted, please make sure to mark your sheets with the loss/transfer. Please also choose a Driver, who should list the fuel in the mehtul bawks on his sheet somewhere.

Once that's done, go ahead and decide whence you want to toddle.

The Cartograph shows several installations within immediate range, (see the Data thread for more details).

  • A water reclamation plant (100km, South);
  • A Small Adeptus Mechanicum weigh-station and storage depot (120km, Northwest) and;
  • An Imperial Guard Artillery outpost (80km, East).

Am I right in remembering that we are currently SE from the Hive where Herman is? So the Mechanicus base is heading in the right direction to go towards the Hive? That might be a good place to get supplies?

And are we simplifying the amount of fuel by available range and assuming that the Rhino is (at least) as fuel efficient as the Bikes? I.e. if both Bikes contribute 60km of their available range, it gives the Rhino 120km, which is enough to reach any of the possible targets?

Edit: re Driver, I assume it makes most sense for the Bikers to stay on their Bikes, and one of the footsloggers to drive? Has anyone got Drive +10? Otherwise I guess it's just highest Ag? (Incario has 50, but I'd guess others might have better?)

That's about right. From the hive you're Sou-East-East, but yes, otherwise correct.

How much you distribute/share is completely up to you. For simplicity, we are going to assume that the fuel efficiency is improved by the use of the crystal stack battery (similar to a hybrid car).

Alright, that's us set then.

Any other votes from the crew as to destination and designated driver? All Marines have Drive (Ground Vehicle) so anyone could do it, or share the responsibility. I'm also going to have to ask you to nominate a 'sub-commander' to cover for the fact I'm not autopiloting Leyuun. You'll just have to bite the bullet on it, and go with sub-optimal. As recompense, the GM is within remit to award Cohesion for Completed Objectives.

Since you have got the Rhino up and running, and demonstrated Teamworking (the sharing of fuel, medicae etc) I will award the team +1 CP. Note these are not permanent, so the more teamwork you accomplish, the more opportunities you have to gain CP to offset Leyuun's absence (if it continues).

Xin is very busy, and I am aware of this, so any chasing up is solely GM's purview.

Have a think in the OOC, and I'll rattle us on from here in a day or so.

I'll throw Incario's hat in the ring for it. He's got Fel47 and as an Ultramarine (build) he adds +1 for Favoured Son = 5CP base. As a Dev, doesn't have Command Skill yet, but again that will be an option (as will +10, +20) if/when we earn any XP.

However, one of the Tac Marines may be better suited?

While Kurkov is one of my higher Fel builds at 46, he has the same issues as Incario as far as not having Command and he's not a Smurf, so less chance of useful stuffs.

Uldyssian is not a particularly good shot so a position as driver would fall to whether his tech use skills are required to operate the vehicles auger array (though he may also be more useful in the back fixing it up while on the move).

The two Marines who usually crew the Rhino's systems are Tech-trained. However, the equipment may be used by anyone, but having Tech-Use will provide an advantage, in order to reward the skill (you can better discern return meanings, interpret signals, respond to contact, etc).

@Mazer Rackham @A.T. @Machine God I'm not sure if either of the techmarines have a MIU installed, but if so that would also confer a bonus to vehicle operation. Failing that, Hierax probably has the best Ag score from amongst the non-biker cohort and could, grudgingly (him, not me), pilot the metal box, assuming one of our devastators will man the turret-mounted storm bolter.

Edit: to @Lysimachus's point about teamwork, Hierax would be happy to assist on any command test but he's not the commanding type, per se. Fortunately we have other tacmen who can do the job, I hope.

Sorry I have not been participating much lately. I have many things to wrap up this week for work before going on break for a couple of weeks.

Hmm,

I think I'd put Hierax on driving (best Ag by a fair margin), and Uldyssian in the co-pilot's seat to run any of the extra systems.

I think maybe Nolites should take the Storm Bolter spot? Tacman gets Bolter Mastery, so the +10 will put his BaS higher than either of the Devs, and the +2 Dam is a wash with their Mighty Shot. Plus the Devs wouldn't get Unrelenting Devastation as the SB isn't a heavy weapon.

Incario and Kurkov could hang around in the rear of the Rhino - as far as I'm aware the big top hatch allows up to 2 occupants to fire out, so that might be a good place for the big guns - sort of giving us a Razorback without losing transport capacity?

Unfortunately Bolter Mastery only applies to Personal Weapons, as do most talents and skills - it was an HB for example, Unrelenting Devastation wouldn't kick in - it's possibly why the vehicle mounted weapons (as written) are so high damage.

Remember the Rhino is a Damocles, and has a big satellite dish on it so you can watch the Footie while driving about, so the main hatch doesn't exist. There is a smaller 'inspection' hatch which will allow one Human Turret, but beware, fire arcs to rear will be compromised = 00:57.

Spoiler

Very well gentlemen, I shall arrange you as instructed, and thusly:

Driver = Hierax

Pintle SB = Nolites

Equipment Operator (Commander seat, with command console, next to the driver) = Uldyssian

Passengers = Everyone else.

Vehicle status:

Armour = Nominal

Fuel = 500/600

Internal systems = Nominal (Radio occasionally self-tunes to Jazz FM).

External systems = Nominal (searchlight is wonky)

Time of day = Midnight.

Excellent. I will move us on shortly.
