Black Cohort Posted Saturday at 05:21 AM Share Posted Saturday at 05:21 AM personally I don't think the rpg community on B&C has ever gotten big enough for that to be an issue. there are usually only 2 or 3 games running at any point, and until recently with some new people joining, only 8 or 10 active people. So new threads in the rpg area aren't common and people tend to notice pretty quickly. A discord adds another location to have to pay attention to and half the point of play by post is so you don't have to be watching stuff minute by minute, which discord kind of pushes towards. And I don't know what the B&C admins/mods would think of an associated but not officially so discord. If we get to the point where there are several dozen people and a dozen games that need may change. I'm not promising anything, but I did have an idea strike me... what about a BC game that starts on Terra at the end of the HH/start of the Scouring era. Players would be Traitor Legion troops just trying to find a ship and get the hell out? Sort of a counterpoint to Black Cohort's Isstvan game? Has anyone ever done anything like that? My tuppence: I think it would definitely have to be all Marines, without exception, and you'd probably be looking at a high level Player start, using the Long War style archetypes from the four books. I'd suggest a very low Player count - say max 4 Players, and do it like Blackest Heart, where they go together or not at all. Rails probably, short duration. Preference given to those Players not currently in a game on a first-come-first-served. The alternative to keep it under control would be to say the Players are recent inductees, and keep the power levels low enough to fool around and run it down and dirty. No minions, this is a bloody retreat through chaotic sacrifice and slaughter to escape with your head still attached. My tuppence, FWIW.
