I would like to roll over my 8 cultists as a plodding along vow. Still deciding on what to vow for January but I will have something picked soon.

Never finished my December vow, so I might as well try again. I, Khulu, vow to paint one tactical squad for the month of January.

Argh, clubs, what is this tech heresy, Why can't I see what I'm trying to do? (end old man fumbling).

 

For plodding along (should we have a separate tab/thread/doodad/whatever it's called for plodding alongs?) I have my two:

1 - Complete all LI stuff I owned at the start of the year (and the bits I failed last year). This is:

approx 3/4 of the large industrial terrain box

3 Malcador Infernus

4 Leman Russ

8 Sabres

1 Saturnine bulk box

And the 'true' HH scale Solar Auxillia Leman Russ.

 

2 - Stop collecting unpainted kill team stuff - this is paint a minimum of six things more than I buy. Each team or terrain set from a box or stand alone team counts as one.

 

For January (as I doubt we'll have any undercoating weather in time to achieve anything) I'm just looking at finishing off the in flight terrain bits I didn't complete January and then getting ahead on the builds

Since I have been snowed in because of a winter storm, I had some time for painting and finished my vow for January.

Here are my assembled Lictor models (Deathleaper, Neurolictor and 3 Van Ryan's Leapers):

 

 

Right now, I am repainting all the bases of my Tyranid army, since I realized that painting the toxic algae with the brighter green outside and the darker green inside looks much better than the other way round (that was how I had started out). 

 

Since the weather forecast for the coming days do not look much better and black ice is on the way, I have some more time for painting coming up.

I will use the time to finish some of the started projects, and tomorrow, I would like to make a start on the halfway-painted Nurgle herald (which I dug up last week during a stock-take of my shelves of shame).

When is the killteam esque bit beginning for this year?

I, Strikemaster JuliusAgricola , embark on the 12 Months of Hobby Challenge, and for the month of January pledge to complete 1 x Lieutenant w/ Combi Weapon, 5 x Deathwing Knights, and 5 x Incursors by month's end.

The incursors are half done, but I need to get them over the line. Might be pushing it for 18 days but I'll give it a go!

The Rules will be posted this month, and the How the Map works, and different tile types in Feb. The first model for the Kill Team is due in March, and will be the "Commander" of the Kill Team. The Commander you choose will dictate the Secret Agenda you will receive. 

There is nothing stopping you from getting a head start on building and even base colours, but the way it's structed for one model a month maintains a sort of balance / parity. If for whatever reason a month is missed, catching up in a single month is acceptable. 

Participants who join the Challenge later in the year can also catch up to where we're at, but MUST include the Commander.
