The Praetorian of Inwit
Disappointing that they are rerealeasing so much. It makes you wonder if something happened behind the scenes and they have a big shortfall of content or if GW really just have stopped caring about BL. The Mephiston boxset does look really good. Shame it will goto scalpers. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387216-upcoming-bl-stuff-2026/page/25/#findComment-6177079 Share on other sites

On re releasing its easy money and the demand is there, so there is no reason not too do it. skylerboodie
They certainly used to release loads of short stories each year, which doesn't happen anymore. I prefer the less frequent, physical anthology approach of recent years, but is less output by volume, grailkeeper and Ubiquitous1984 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387216-upcoming-bl-stuff-2026/page/25/#findComment-6177116 Share on other sites

I prefer the less frequent, physical anthology approach of recent years, but is less output by volume, I quite liked the eshort waves they used to put out. I could pick and choose the ones I wanted and they were usually collected into an anthology PB for those who wanted the lot. Their scarcity in recent times has added to the feeling of less product (along with the clumping of releases others have pointed out). LemartesTheLost
I, for one, am extremely happy about the Mephiston trilogy reprint. I was still missing Blood of Sanguinius in paperback so it will be nice to have the full set in hardback if I can snag it. Eh It depends on what you want. If you want kind of older (meaning written more than a few years ago) Mephiston, or at least Mephiston with some checks still on him like he was Devastation and prior, then no, would avoid. If you are down with Mephiston being a super duper mega psyker and are desperate for more Blood Angels, then sure. It's been a while, but I remember quite a few folks being left disappointed by the end Edited June 26 by darkhorse0607 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/387216-upcoming-bl-stuff-2026/page/25/#findComment-6177272 Share on other sites
Fedor
Mephiston trilogy didn't have much of a 40k vibe to it, imo. It was more like Hinks had his own fantasy sci-fi trilogy about uber space wizards partially done and then decided to graft it into the setting. Loquille
We've another Siege of Terra book this week. Flames of Betrayal "This Horus Heresy omnibus brings together Garro: Knight of Grey, which sees the former Death Guard legionary come face-to-face with Mortarion during the Siege of Terra, and Era of Ruin, an anthology of eight short stories that focus on what happened in the immediate aftermath of Horus’ defeat by the Emperor." Suggests this is the end (of the end of the end). I didn't bother with the Garro hardback when it was originally released, and I haven't read Era of Ruin, so this book suits me. Don’t get me wrong, I love these faux leather styled editions and would have been all over them if they were the original release option. They are also only offering them for 12 books. Out of a series of over 50 books. So I’m not surprised they didn’t disappear in five minutes. Did they announce which twelve books will be released in this format? I finished it back in February and thought it was solid. I just don't typically bother posting if there isn't a thread up, or in some cases, if the thread is too old. I recently finished Fall of Cadia too and it was fairly terrible, but didn't end up posting my against-the-grain spite review because the thread for it was old. Happy to offer my thoughts when Roomsky gets a thread up, of course. The middle "horror" act was my favorite, but the horror segments are always my favorite.
