Boc Posted January 5 Share Posted January 5 (edited) AND HERE WE GO AGAIN. Last year got pretty crazy, both with the cadence I was pumping out models and the breadth of factions. I'll look at outdoing both this year, though the overall quantity may be a bit much to overcome. One thing I want to do better at this year, specifically on B&CS, is be active posting on others' threads. Dr Ruminal and Firedrake Cordova I think set the standard here, but I know posting without any sort of acknowledgement is discouraging. I need to try to react to posts a few days a week and go on a comment spree a couple minutes a week. Takes little effort but big impact, suck less Boc. Quick army breakdown: Chaos Space Marines - my precious, anything there I'm keeping Chaos Knights - my other precious, I'm okay keeping or selling at an exorbitant markup Everything else is painted and thrown up online to sell. I pick up used stuff from locals to rescue from a bad paint job or just from their pile of shame, so the variety is pretty wide. My colorblindness keeps some of the paint schemes a bit dour and repetitive (wow he's painting Ultramarines and Hive Fleet Behemoth back to back, so much blue), but I really like the gritty realism of equipment that's been used and abused. Don't worry about the logo, thats for my new painting Instagram and an updated ebay store. All still me, for better or worse! Boc Posted January 8 Author Share Posted January 8 There's another repulsor and impulsor i couldn't fit in the photos lol One repulsor, repulsor Executioner and impulsor are going to be black templars, the other 4 whatevers are Ultramarines. Whites done first on all of them, then once I prime and mask the whites off they'll start taking shape with blue and black. I've got all the detachable parts primed in box lids lol, I think I started more at once than I should have. Been a slow week, mostly motivation being the issue and wanting to go to bed early but then doom scrolling. Today I had some evening coffee to make sure I'd get at it. I decided to split the vehicles into 3 or 4 batches, first working on the two UM impulsors. I've finished metallics on the first, and just went until I used the rest of the gold on my pallette on the second. I've broken off 7 total grav plates so far. Whoever designed this assembly needs to get a swift kick in the nuts. Easiest to paint them while on the sprue since it's a PITA to mask them on the model. Break at the joint if you look at them wrong. Progress Impulsor and impulsor/gladiator have microsol on the decals overnight, weathering starts Saturday Repulsor 1 and 2 have golds done, if I'm optimistic maybe metallics done tomorrow and decals overnight Saturday to Sunday.
