Origins

The Bloodspeakers are older than the Dengamar colony itself. Records recovered from pre-Imperial survey logs suggest that the coven first emerged in the deep caverns of the Dengamar supercontinent sometime before 460.M37, when the planet was officially inducted into the Imperium. The colony of mutants and psykers were likely survivors of warp exposure when their ship suffered a breach in their Gellar field and crash laned on the vacant Dengamar. They formed a subterranean society bound by ritual, prophecy, and blood.

Over the millennia, the Bloodspeakers evolved into a secretive network of warp-touched seers, fleshcrafters, and psychic manipulators. They believe Dengamar is a “seed-world,” destined to birth a new epoch of chaos ascendance. Their goal: to tear the veil between reality and the warp, transforming Dengamar into a beacon for daemonic convergence.

The Bloodspeakers have long sought to influence Dengamar’s ruling houses, often through subtle means like dream implantation, secretly interbreeding with minor nobles to seed psychic potential, orchestrating civil unrest and pirate raids.Their leaders known as The Choir are believed to portion of the original crew of the voidship fused into a single psychic entity.

The Corruption of Gul Dumir

In late M41, Gul Dumir was dispatched to the Ashen Reaches to apprehend a renegade commander. Instead, he found the Bloodspeakers.

The Bloodspeakers saw in Dumir a vessel: ambitious, charismatic, and psychically latent. Through ritual communion, they awakened his dormant powers and fed him visions of planetary dominion. Dumir returned to Hydris City transformed, his mind sharpened, his soul tethered to the coven’s will.

With Dumir’s coup in 998.M41, the Bloodspeakers finally breached the surface. They embedded themselves in the Palace of Glass, whispering madness into the ears of generals, nobles, and PDF commanders. Their rituals intensified, culminating in the Warp Tear Event that summoned the Apocalypse Imminent and the Skull Brethren.
