Trukks are fine, but it is a good idea to prime it in stages (I feel that actually painting it in sub-assemblies is a bit excessive, as long as no bare plastic shows through, it's usually better to leave the "inner" parts dark). At the end of the day, weathering covers a multitude of sins, especially if you're an Ork.

Rumors:

  • Legion of the Damned Kill Team
  • Ork Nobz Kill Team
  • Kill Team Exodites - Will be a faction later like Corsairs (why don't we Salt emote?)
  • Grey Knight Kill Team + Grey Knights getting new models in 11th edition

So nothing new.

Forgive the question, but as I'm unable to watch the video - does Valrak touch on whether the Legion of the Damned are rumoured to be more "Ghost Rider-y" (with flaming skulls, etc; how I often see modern fans modelling them) or more classic "Warp Zombie-y"?

The Trukk is horrible. Looks great but is just horrible to work with.

It's really not that bad. It's not in the same league as the metal Gyrocopter or the blades on dark elf executioners. It's not even as bad as the scrapjet. People said the same about the stompa but there aren't really any issues with it.

However, intrigued to see what it looks like. My current trukks consist of a looted Goliath, rhino and dunerider.

As much as I would like to see Exodites, it should be after GW gets Drukhari up to speed.

What the heck is GW’s obsession with doing something space-elf-based as long as it isn’t Drukhari?

(Yea, I am aware we have had two or three kits but at least allow me this)

I am very interested in potential GK stuff. Would buy the heck out of that.

Surely they would be all styles of armour from across marine history.

Flames coming from their knees to make it more ambiguous without actually committing to MkX.

I think the thing with Dark Eldar is, whilst they could do with more units and the return of some stuff that hasn't been updated from now OOP metal and resin, the existing plastic range doesn't need updating, really. The models are very well sculpted, nicely proportioned and haven't even been hit with scale creep all that badly. In some areas I'd argue they hold up better than some far more modern sculpts, the hair especially (seriously, what is it with modern GW and making hair look kinda wrong?).

This kinda comes down to the phenomenon where as sculpts and moulding tech have improved, the length of time necessary for a refresh is increased almost exponentially. A 10 year old sculpt in 2000 is not the same as a 10 year old sculpt in 2010 etc. The Dark Eldar Warriors that were available before the 5E refresh were definitely showing their age by then. There's been a longer gap from that refresh to now, and honestly short of catastrophic mould degradation rendering the current kits unusable I can't see a reason for them to NEED replacing. It's not like with Space Marines, which were a weird case where they'd been underscaled compared to the rest of the line for a long, long time and it's only recently they'd been properly sized, or Cadians where the scale was right but the sculpts and proportions were a bit rough. They're the right size, the sculpts and general proportions are good, and they don't look aesthetically dated (which is more subjective but compared to the recent Eldar refreshes they look right at home). Even the balljointed waists don't make them look off due to the clever sculpting to hide any disjointedness in all but super-extreme poses.

I dunno, at this point a refresh for the existing kits would feel kinda forced. I'd rather they made some new stuff for them, like a plastic hunting beast pack with beastmaster, elite counterparts to the Kabalites and Wyches (Trueborn and Bloodbrides if memory serves), an Archon's court, etc.

I really doubt GW is unable to make LOTD without adding primaris stuff in them. I really don´t think primariades fit the legion that well looks wise, while older marks of armor would atleast get updated return of sorts. More broken helmets, skulls, bones, flame motifs, Skeleton decoration weapons etc. The metal/finecrap LOTD was proper update to old ones and i manage to even nab one of the 4man team boxes.

Also these are Kill Team releases, which are a separate slot allocation, so an exodite kill team doesn't detract from dark eldar which are said to get a big refresh soon.

In regards to LotD they may as well be a Red Corsair Raiders type unit with a distinct style including various armor patterns.

@Evil Eye Not asking for resculpts of what we have. I would like (pretty please with sugar on top) the kits that got sent to Legends and some of our previously dropped characters to be returned.

@Nephaston that Kill Team slot could have been used for Beast Pack or Court of the Archon.

Grey knights would be much appreciated but not sure about legion of the damned. My concern would be that they cover them in sculpted flames and smoke effects.

I think they could get away with primaris LotD but having them manifesting to max existing armours but would prefer old school marks.

We are on year 3 of that Grey Knights Kill Team/refresh rumour going around. I would be quite happy if it happened this edition. Grey Knights in the style of Crowe have been on my wishlist for so long. LotD done in the same scale as the Raiders and the same style as the old miniatures would be brilliant. For LotD I would love to see the return of the underslung multimelta with the arm brace.

Ah, that makes sense, yeah. Right there with you on that one!

Some ghost-flame Legion of the Damned kill team would be an insta-buy from me.  Probably blowing my hobby budget for the rest of the year, but that's how it be sometimes.

I'd just be more concerned about the rules. Forget whether they're good or not, look at any Kill Team box that went to regular 40k.

I don't want to roll 6 different weapons for a single shooting activation. I don't want to roll 4 different weapons in a melee activitation.

I do :p

Pure speculation about Nob team (if most of them come true then I'm zoggin' prophet of Mork or Gork) feel free to join:

  • Boss Nob - squad leader
  • Underboss Nob - the second in command
  • Nob - standard Nob
  • Dakka Nob - Nob with big zoggin' Shoota, but not flashy enough to be Flashgit
  • Pain-Nob - "medic", nobody likes him
  • Mek Nob - tek support, everyobody likes him (the provided weapon upogrades might have somthing to do with that)
  • Slasha Nob - melee-only Nob
  • Cybork Nob - like Nob but with more Cybork bitz
  • 'Ard Nob - Nob with lot's of armor
  • Grotz - Ammo Runtz, etc.
  • Bomb Squig

40k is kinda inconsistent with that.

Tacticals, Devastators etc all switched to single weapon equivalents.
Then killteams have like 5 different loadouts in one squad, and vehicles have like 6 different guns on the one model.
