Wartrakk and Dakkarig are definitely the highlights for me. Wartrakk perfectly hits the mark of "chunkier biker with a turret strapped on", and the Dakkarig...I love stompy, I love big guns with loads a' dakka, I wants it.

 

Painboy's excellent too, and I like the Grots despite, as others have pointed out, the oddly small ears.

 

The ones I'm least sold on are the core Boyz and Bosses. Not that they're bad, but something about the design style still feels oddly constrained and dulled. They feel very "Orks by kommittee" to me. Although the actual boss in the Boyz kit is great, as are the adorable little Squigs here and there.

Overall an stellar collection of minis, trully the winners of the box, I love that the Dakkarig is essentially an Ork Ballistus Dreadnaught.

 

Honestly, the only model I have issues with is the Painboy, I'll really miss the old claw.

The Ork half is the star of the show. Absolutely fantastic minis. These look like they will be a blast to paint

Very happy with the Ork half! I even like all the characters.

 

Still not sure if I’m buying in but if I do it would just be the Ork half and the lore book.
 

With the boyz having some customisation options, there’s a decent chance this will be boxed and sold separately. Would rather have a new kit for that but we’ll see. 
 

Edit: apparently the boyz and grots share a sprue, so less likely they’ll be a separate box.

I absolutely LOVE. these guys. Incredible work. It’s the DoW intro cinematic made plastic but with updated details. So much character. 
 

Not wild about the Banner Nob’s head . And grot ears are something I will try to improve, but other than that. Just blown away.  I was managing my expectations but man, I was blown away by the Orks in here. 
 

Kudos to the designers. Everything that needs to be Chonky is.

Great looking models. They only seem drab because they're Goffs. Painted as a clan with more flair they'll look more exciting.

Interesting, it looks like 10 boys + 5 grots are on a single sprue, which means multipart boyz + multipart grots coming later

Also, the way they set up the grots is pretty ingenious, there's only 2 spare parts :

I'm not really a fan of the Dakkarig, but everything else is absolutely spectacular. Just looking through the individual Boyz I'm blown away by how good every single sculpt is. Will probably pick up the box for the Ork half alone

Echoing others, orks stay winning. The new vehicles are awesome, and outside of a few of the heads I love the model refreshes. I had previously thought I might get two of these boxes, but with how boring the SM half is I'll probably just try and get an extra ork half of a SM player

This also suggests that the subsequent starter sets will have 20 boys and 10 grots in them. Helpful to build up the army if you're planning on starting Orks with 11th (like me)

My only complaint (and it's a personal complaint, not a criticism) is that these amazing models are too detailed for me to want to paint a full army of them.

I put mine on 40s back in 4th. For once in my life in ahead of the game. 

 

Think the ork half is fantastic. Not fussed by the walker but the rest are great.

I'll personally be doing the SM half instead of these, but these are epic. 

 

The Painboy is my fave I think - the tube on the Urty Syringe gives the pose some great movement.

 

Warboss has the best orky chain weapon in a generation, surely... There are few in the game now any better to my eye.
