Am I understanding this correctly;

I choose Armoured Spearhead which costs 3DP - I am now locked in to Take and Hold as my force disposition.

If I choose 2DP 1st Company Taskforce and 1DP Librarius Conclave, I can choose to use either Priority Assets or Recon.

i mean it does - landspeeders, jetbikes, deffkoptas, raiders, arks all fly around and work. but its a game taking place over a pretty small area of battlefield - it is kinda unreasonable to think you can fit the equivalent of fighter jets into it with no problems - it's just not the scale the game is played at

It's a bit amusing how the 1DP detachments stand to be more commonly seen than any single 2DP simply because there are so few of the 1s right now. My guess would be they'll try and make it a bit more balanced in distribution for the codexes, or indeed make more 1DP than 2DP options. I was really expecting more of the detachments to disappear tbh, or indeed more rewrites and removals than this. It's understandable they wouldn't spend much time on this interim kludging tho, and reserve that for the codex launches.

My main issue right now is just that I have exactly no use for Subversion Assets in any of my three marine armies, and Conclave is fine, but kinda feels like it's forcing me to take 2 librarians to make much sense. On the plus side the Conclave rules are actually good, and go well enough with my Salamanders. So really it's just my Deathwatch still uncertain of what to do. Black Spear is... fine, but I'll probably end up favoring something different for them.

That said, speeder detachment has me pumped for my Primaris army... Looks like Scars (Successors) are Disruption forever!

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

Starting to think all these big plane models don't align themselves well with the tabletop wargame about tanks and infantry.

Plenty of games about tanks and infantry can pull off aircraft just fine, they just either use much larger play surfaces, or significantly smaller scale.

I never played tenth so I don't know if this even applies - is there any advantage to not spending all your DP points?

No there isn't. It's a use them or lose them kind of deal.
