New Battleforces

Im looking at them and while I dont need any of them, they all look pretty good for a new player starting that faction. All have units that that respective faction will use especially starting from scratch. Doesnt benefit me at all as the two factions I own of them, I have every one of the units in the battle forces at least one if not duplicates of barring the Abomination dude whom I have never liked enough to pick up. But I use every single one of the units in most lists of that army so they arent trash units. Every chaos player uses at least one squad of legionnaires and cultists typically if not a couple. When I play against nids I see all of the units in the box against me very commonly. Yeah, these are totally not meant for veteran players of the factions, but provide the basics for a new player jumping into the faction for the new edition.

Well I, for one, will be getting the AM box; can't go wrong with an additional Basilisk.

Older players that complain about the contents of these boxes baffle me. They're not for you unless you're just trying to hoard plastic crack. They're for newer players trying to round out their forces or get started in general.

With the MFM having just dropped, the Nids box will be 535 points max sans the extra Flyrant, 720 including it. Lowest point cost would be 495 by taking a Flyrant and Ranged Warriors.

Indeed. The so-called "Factory 4" is really GW's Warehouse 23 for storing them all.

And the players who insist on using older editions...which is why i don't think they've thought this through very well. Sticking the players who enjoyer the older static editions, with the models from those eras...where do I sign up?

If I were new to Chaos Space Marines who only had a Combat Patrol, I would be disappointed at the number of Cultists in the Battleforce. (Biased though, I don't like Cultists)

I would rather have a squad of Chosen, Havocs, or a Rhino over 20 Cultists. 

If GW want to shove Cultists down our throats, then just bring back Lost and the Damned as a faction.

the guard one, kinda sorta in the sense there’s not much overlap, and the overlap there is, is pretty acceptable and needed, but beyond that I don’t think they complement each other particularly well.

Its probably just a mistake but the page for the Chaos Battleforce on the NZ shows images of the Legionaries with the Kill Team sprue.

Only in the individual images, not in the group picture and the description also doesn't say anything about it which makes it very likely somebody just grabbed the pics from the legionaries page without thinking about it but if the KT sprue is included that at least would make it a slightly better value and also make the box slightly more different to the christmas battleforce
