Warhammer 40k app update

Im not touching the app with a ten foot pole but the website version is *chefs kiss*, I really like what they did so kudos GWs.

Just had a very quick play with the app as you would use it in a battle and very cool so far

 

You can share lists and see all their rules. Also has missions, maps etc.

 

I am unpaid, this is the free version. Honestly that's great for a free version of an app. I did put my codex code in

So, I had the app on my phone but as I have barely used it (I had 1 game of 10th....) my phone auto-uninstalled it.

 

I have just reinstalled it and it seems all of my codexes that were available (via the code) are now locked. I am away from home but I will see if I can unlock them again by re-using the code but has anyone else had this issue?

I've been steadily working on two Combat Patrols - the old Ork one with the Deffkoptas and the Dark Angel on Mordecai's Whateveritwas. Only three Inceptors away from having them ready to go on the tabletop.

Neither are present in the new app. 

I think I've still got the .pdfs for them so I will be playing them using the new 11th rules.

 

It will be interesting to see how unbalanced things get if we play Mordecai's (Judgement?) against the Ork Combat Patrol from the Armageddon box.

 

I'll be comparing the new Vs old Vardenghast Swarm too as that is in the painting queue.

 

But at the end of the day, it will only be me Vs Jr so hardly competitive!

 

I'm hoping that any new CPs will be available as .pdfs as I like having physical reference material or at least having it on the biggest screen available.

Are you logged in? I believe all the code stuff is linked to your My Warhammer account.

Mine were still recognised.  Are you logged in?

Check that you're logged in to the app. If you aren't, then make sure you're logged in. If you are, log out and then log back in again.

Well my Salamanders list has gone down 90 pts. Ridiculous. 

 

Also I the method for attaching Leader/Support characters to units is not wildly intuitive. Took me a fat minute to figure out. 

 

War journal looks like a good feature though. Very excited to try it out.

Bold move to remove all the combat patrols a month after the Combat Patrol magazine run ended, I'm sure they're just updating them and will definitely repost them soon, right?

The combat patrol thing is REALLY annoying.  My mate and I only really have time to play CoPat.  I have enough Space marines to make about 5 patrols.  I’ve also just finished Orks Gitsompas…ALL GONE.

Looks like I will have to stick to 10th and paper which I don’t mind.

I’ve only been with the hobby six months and I’m pretty pissed off with GW already.

I guess “welcome aboard”

tap the triple dot (what you use to duplicate/remove units) and there is an option to attach to unit now. It gives you a selection of viable units as well.

What Focslain said. Upper right corner of each unit entry. There are separate columns within for what units it can lead/support 

 

Also I never found anyone interested in playing CoPat but dang brother, I feel your pain. Hopefully they'll put them back up soon, maybe rebalanced like the Nid one apparently is, but kind of annoying that they took them all off the app so quickly

Am I doing something wrong or have I missed something - if I set an incursion level army size, it gives an error if I select a 3DP detachment, but I thought GW said you could?

This happened on OSX and I went to Profile > View Subscriptions > Manage My Subscriptions > clicked the subscription > exited the app > closed all apps > reopened app

 

Then it was all good. On OSX it has routinely happened that it won't let me make a new list until I follow those steps lol, so it's almost reflexive as a way to remind the app that you are in fact a sub.

Yeah they knee jerked on it as a result of imperial agents, the code in the app likely reflects the intended rules of max 2.

Which is it Mogger?  2 or 3 points for incursion.  I was hoping for enraged onslaught but that’s 3 points.  If you go for 2k points but make a 1.5k army can you use 3points?

For 1000 point games, you can have 1 3 or 2 DP detachment or 2 1 DP detachments (according to their article the day after the IA debacle). Obviously a backtrack and not what was originally intended given the app clearly says and supports 2 DP detachments at 1000 points.

Apparently there is a bug with deleting a unit after attaching a character to it. Is that what is happening to you?

 

I have not really hit any bugs as such. The buttons for draw secondaries in a battle seemed to be transposed but it was confusing rather than too terrible, I worked it out soon enough

It's let me pick a 2 and 1 combo for imcursion with no complaint. Warcom says they decided you can use 3dp at incursion, but they made that rule *after* the rules went to print, but before the likely code freeze on the app. I suspect it'll update at the next balance pass.
