I love Mega Armour, and this might be my favorite Mega Armour ork yet. The Praetorian of Inwit Posted yesterday at 08:27 AM Share Posted yesterday at 08:27 AM Looks absolutely stunning. Bad Moons have always been my favourite clan. Maybe it's time to start some Orks... sarabando Posted yesterday at 12:24 PM Share Posted yesterday at 12:24 PM i like how the mega armour has very similar lines to cataphractii terminator armour, i like to think that is due to the sheer impact they had on the culture of the entire ork species during the great crusade. Marshal Reinhard Posted yesterday at 01:30 PM Share Posted yesterday at 01:30 PM I quite like him. Maybe they could have given him more hanging dangly teef bits, but some of the classic design would be hard to translate to modern design sensibilities. Much more serious. Agreed. Whilst the "realistic Orks as scary beasts" design aesthetic of the recent models is excellent and I do like them, I also miss the more "goofy" and "characterful" "comic relief" aspects of the old (late 1990's) design aesthetic. Yes, that's a contradiction, and I'm sticking with it Edited yesterday at 01:57 PM by Firedrake Cordova andes and Karhedron 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/388268-nazdreg/page/2/#findComment-6180089 Share on other sites

Captain Idaho Posted yesterday at 02:20 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:20 PM As long as Orks call their unit champions "nob" I don't see the point in making less goofy Anyway, GW didn't have to do a literal translation of the classic art, but they could have at least taken some ques from it. A power claw that is more pincer shaped for example. A power claw that is more pincer shaped for example. It is a difficult line to tread. I know the most recent Yarrick was very popular, but I thought it stayed too close to the previous incarnation. The new Nazdreg could maybe have stayed a tiny bit closer -- but yeah, well, that's just, like, my opinion, man. Captain Idaho Posted yesterday at 05:07 PM Share Posted yesterday at 05:07 PM The key thing is, what is it about that new Nazdreg that shows it to be a Nazdreg representation? If GW never told us it was Nazdreg, everyone would just say "oh good new Warboss". Yeah, a specific recreation of the old Blanche art would likely be overkill, but I wish they'd brought in some of Nazdreg's character more than anything. His most important traits since the Cretaceous Perio - er, that is to say, the 1990's - are that he is ostentatious, overweight, brilliant and somewhat lazy. This model barely attempts to communicate one of those. GW's become very good at modeling a combination of girth and strength, exemplified by the wildly fun new AOS Ogres, and I would've loved to see some of that design language ported over into this model. kabaakaba Posted yesterday at 07:59 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:59 PM Blances art is an concept art in the first place. Less random rolling over what are likely inconsequential attacks will speed the game up - below average hits as base then above average hits if the unit has 5+ is decent. Inquisitor_Lensoven
Never liked the current ghaz model. The previous sculpt was so much better imho, and this is even better than that imho. Evil Eye
The one thing I actively dislike on this new model is probably the power klaw. It just doesn't do it for me. I'd rather they'd done something like the moon-pincer from the Blanche artwork, or the more hand-like "Ork power fist" of the old model.
