That's easy: Imperial Fist's yellow, in honor of Valrak! That's how I painted my Space Marines Casualties; as fifth company Imperial Fist's as it looks good to have my Ultramarines surround them when I use them as objective markers. Don't actually decide, though - once a decision is made the purchase is inevitable. Felix Antipodes
Liked the leg pull - have to admit I was both sucked in and suss in equal measure. Not sure about the scale, seems a bit undersized looking at the pics. It may come down to price in the end. Orion
Looks neat. Kinda annoys me when these things come out that people will say. "Look! they now have a CAD model! They can make it in plastic!" (Valrak, Kirioth etc....) What do you think the Forge World one is? Styrene and kitbashing? There's a chance a lot of people (myself included) thought the resin one was still the first resin design from the early 2000's when no, it wouldn't have been done in CAD. Apparently it had a resculpt in 2017 which is likely when it was digitised and hence your above component sheet. He even videoed himself looking at the pieces and the instructions. People's over investment into things they know little about drives the nerd in me a little crazy. lhg033
Like many, I would have seriously considered a full plastic Thunderhawk, for a reasonable price! Reasonable being the operative word here. I would expect it to be Baneblade or up in cost based on the amount of plastic would include but new model/FOMO tax would probably have it higher than that. In terms of this, it's nice and I would happily take it in a bundle with killteam or something. I doubt I would buy it separately though. MoriyaSchism
If they ever do a plastic Thunderhawk I hope they ditch the Heresy style sponsons on the nose and go back to the older resin style with the Land Raider style heavy bolters. I don't like the MkIIB style of the current one, doesn't look like it would make for a good gun on a gunship. Looks great on the MkIIB Land Raider, but no so much here. Crimson Longinus
If they ever do a real kit of huge marine flyer, I wish they do Stormbird rather than Thunderhawk, as it is quite a bit better looking. Orange Knight
This looks so good. So they clearly have the Thunderhawk in their design software on some level... Give me a full plastic model. I would spend a LOT on one. I have been put off large resin models just due to the weight. I think these look more useful as weapons on a flyer with better arcs. I suppose one argument is that the newer style could have greater ammunition stores as can be fed from inside. Robbienw
1 hour ago, Orange Knight said: This looks so good. So they clearly have the Thunderhawk in their design software on some level... Exactly the point Orion was making They've had it fully complete in their design software since 2017. The Thunderhawk released in 2017 was full CAD. The Aeronautica Thunderhawk was ‘debigulated’ from it. This wrecked terrain will have been produced from it as a base. Yes they do work from and modify CAD designs that started out as resin models into plastic model designs, as we have seen with a vast amount of Heresy vehicles now. That's it, another HH shootout to the old designs. Alternatively, they could redesign the canards to make them bigger and copy-paste the wing hbs.
